Which MGS is your favorite?

I love them all but for me it's: MGS2 > MGS3 > MGS1

That doesn't necessarily mean I don't like MGS1; I just enjoyed it the least.

Metal Gear Solid 3 > Metal Gear Solid/The Twin Snakes > Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops > Metal Gear Solid 2 > Metal Gear (MSX) > Metal Gear Acid 2 > Metal Gear 2 (MSX) > Metal Gear Acid > Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel > Metal Gear (NES) > Snake's Revenge

I never played the bonus VR missions game.

Haven't played 3 & 4 yet (just playing PC versions) so for me, it's MGS > MGS2. The latter just got too convoluted in the latter parts and Raiden's nowhere near as awesome or as smart as the "real Snakes". Rose's incessant nagging for emotional dialogue didn't help much either.

Probably, MGS 1, then 2 then 3 (so chronologically). MGS 2 had such a sophisticated (some what insane) story i can't help but love it.
And MGS 1 (for ps1) easily comes out on top due to its nostalgic values. Not only is it the original, and extremely advanced for it's time, i doubt anyone who played the original could ever forger psycho mantis.

MSG1 for me. I was pretty young when i played it and that whole deal with the card keys was just amazing especially since before metal gear all i had was mario and diddy kong racing lol. Sniper Wolf and her dogs scared the hell out of me too :x

MGS 3 I think its the best, great characters and much more exciting playing tactics,... and what I found the most surpassing element is the way you aim your gun there is no leaser, at the beginning you think its suxs but afterward you found it astonishing.

Metal Gear Solid on the original Sony Playstation was always held as my favourite game of all time. Now that I've finished MGS4 the latest incarnation of the Metal Gear series. It has put me in a very difficult position as it could very well knock off my favourite game of all time of its glowing perch. Which has just been siting right up there aloft for the past decade! I enjoyed every minute of it from beginning to end. The characters the amount of scope, action and stealth setpieces.

Another thing that its got to be credited for is its gameplay and music. The music itself fits all the themes wonderfully, its not over the top and quite possibly the best soundtrack since the original. I won't discuss the gameplay too much as you can find out for yourself easily.

So its neck and neck for my top position. As soon as the credits came to a close i wanted to play it again! Surely GOTY material right there. Theres only been a few games that have managed to make me to do this, MGS1 and Resident Evil 2.

Kudos to Kojima, hes wrapped up a decade of beautiful games absolutly wonderfully!

MGS. Nothing besides maybe 4, when i play it, can top it. Sure the controls arent as refined as the later games but i think that overall MGS is the best.

MGS3. Loved the camoflague, my support team (Major Tom, Paramedic & Sigint), the humor, the boss fights, eating anything and everything, and the plot. MGS1 was a classic, but MGS3 is one of my favorite games.

MGS4 is my favorite game currently in existence, I love it! Blown away.

Now, it's very ambitious, by setting the game in several locations for shorter amounts of time you don't get as fully immersived in an enviroment as you do in say MGS1. But it pays off bigtime, I really enjoy the variety.

Plus, as always, the story is powerful and one hell of an emotional ride. And personally I think MGS4 has overall the best gameplay, though I think MGS3 had some of the more memorable boss fights.

Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear 1

Haven't finished 4 yet but so far it's fucking blowing my mind. If this epicness keeps it up, It may be my favorite since the first one. The first Metal Gear Solid is too good

MGS3 without a doubt, with MGS1 being a very close runner up. I would say MG2: Solid Snake is a runner up as well since it pretty much introduced a huge amount of things that were carried over MGS1, and it was an ambitious game for its time, but some aspects of it didn't aged that well in my opinion. In "trade", it has my favourite OST in the series.

I finally played through MGS4 recently. So I've only played MGS1-4 but my rating is:

2 > 3 > 1 > 4

I understand GotP's purpose as a conclusion to the overall story, and it was a wonderful finale. But I did not enjoy it much. The gameplay innovations were nice, but the story, characters, plot and setting just were not very interesting to me. The BB unit was a nice homage to the previous bosses but I guess I wanted something fresh? Which seems silly because MGS2 is my favorite and it's kind of a rehash of MGS1. But I do love the themes and characters MGS2 explored a whole bunch.

Now onto Peace Walker.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is like huge fanservice to people who played the previous games. Perhaps too much so, but I did like it a lot. I don't have a favorite really. They were all great.
