LOL, I enjoyed this show, one of the really decent short series I've watched.

The ending was disappointing though.

I don't know why I liked Hiromi so much though she was a pretty despicable character at times.

Wow, this series was like a rollercoaster ride. It was like Hiromi, Noe, Hiromi, Noe, Ai(?), Hiromi, Noe (repeated) right till the very end...
When Noe walked away on her crutches it seems like she was retreating from the battle with Hiromi over Shin lol, but Hiromi must know she had been in one heckuva fight.
I can't really choose between Hiromi and Noe- I want both to win. Hiromi has suffered quite a lot and Shin loved Hiromi more, but Noe was such a great character, always encouraging him and just generally being nice and understanding (did not deserve to lose).
For me, Shin was too indecisive, he should take a look a Miyokichi (who declared his love for Ai right from the start and never wavered, so good luck to him!).
Agree with others that episode 13 was not dramatic enough compared to the rest of the series, it just felt that the issues were too quickly and easily resolved (still not sure what happened to make Shin's mother tell such a big lie to Hiromi about being siblings...)
Overall, loved the music, characters and storyline but slightly let down by the conclusion.

Yeah it annoyed me.
But it was partly the mum's and hiromi's fault.

In a chunkl why its their fault.

The ending annoyed me, but then they managed to fit all this into an anime series of this size, I'm pretty amazed.
If this went for abit longer I'm sure it would of ended better.

I really enjoyed this series. Noe reminded me of the type of girls I dated in High School lol.

I had a feeling that he was gonna pick Hiromi at the end, since that was kinda the girl he was aiming for since the start. I think if he did end up with Noe it would have been a nice ending, but I just didn't see the chemistry between those two that Shin and Hiromi had.

At least Noe was able to cry at the end and reclaim her tears unless I missed something.

Overall this was pretty good. I understand why it took Shinichiro so long to make a decision. He loves Hiromi, but he genuinely doesn't want to see Noe sad because of this. It's tough but he can't choose both.

I'm having a tough time decided to rate this an 8 or a 9. I rated both seasons of Clannad and Kanon 2006 a 9...and I think I like those two shows a little bit more than this one. I'll give this show a very strong 8....one of the better shows I have seen that I rated 8.

Noe cried at the ending, right? Hmmm well Shinichiro liked Hiromi from the start so it does make scence that he choose Hiromi. I feel bad for Noe, I loved her so much. I'm kinda going to miss this anime, I wish their were more eps or a season 2 or something but I know their won't be one.

Oh and does anyone know what happened to Jun?... Quess I kinda missed that, so he did go to that school right?..

So, I guess we got a Hiromi end.
I was really hoping that wouldn't happen, but I guess I kind of expected it. Noe/Shin's relationship was so strong early on I knew it couldn't stay that way.

I was hoping it would be a Noe end, not just because Noe is love, but because without Shin, I figured Noe would be much worse off then Hiromi. Hiromi was ready to accept it if he didn't love her. Noe seemed very unstable in those last episodes, so I think if she could've been with Shin she would be much better off.

Anyway, I give this series a 9; beautiful series, but a point off for that stupid Hiromi taking Noe's place.

I always prepare myself for a School Days Ending , and thankfully it wasn't so for that I am glad. I find it sad that Hiromi only pursued him after Noe got involved but its okay I was satisfied enough with the ending.

Shin realizes how much Noe is important for him, as she was the one who cheers him up, gives him courage, etc. Thus he told Hiromi that he likes Noe better. Hiromi (depressed) went to Jun's and tries to have sex with him, Jun declines, slaps her, and see the reality. As time passes, Hiromi finally accepted, that she "graduated" from Shin (like Aiko?). Meanwhile, Noe (depressed) tries to do suicide, because of too much pressure on her and she couldn't get it out since she couldn't cry. Thus Shin tries to stop her, and Shin told her that he loves her. Noe couldn't believe, cuz she thought he's in love with Hiromi, Shin proved it by trying to commit suicide as well. Thus it convinced Noe and they kissed and sex. At the end of Winter, the snows are melting and Shin holding hands with Noe saw the stones written "I love Noe". The end.

Wow this was a very impressive anime. Loved the plot and character depth, but most of all, the realism. I can understand the decisions Shinichiro made so I suppose I would've been fine with whoever he chose in the end. What made me respect him at the end was because he chose to be honest with everyone else and most importantly, himself and his own feelngs.

Satisfying ending, but yes... wtf no final kiss scene?

And unfortunately this anime is the perfect example of that. At the start of the anime, in the middle of the anime and at the end of the anime all I was thinking was "Please, not that selfish bitch, please not her." I was fine with Noe, I preferred Ai, but I just didn't want anything to do with the selfish Hiromi and they go and end it her way!

i'm gonna have to give this a 9.49 but i could only round it down to a 9.. very very impressive.. i just love the series..

basically, one must not be blinded by his biases toward a certain character.. I love Noe, too, but everything that happened is all sound to me and what the show has set for it to do or convey, it has done well on my perspective (i don't want to spend the entire night writing elaborately on every detail of this).. the production for this (animation and sound) are some of the best out there.. overall, i felt no major flaws whatsoever.. but whether it is a true masterpiece, i couldn't really tell..

realistically speaking, shin always loved hiromi (and vice versa), ever since childhood.

shes the only one that has been on his mind that entire time...its just that he had good chemistry right off the bat with noe. it didnt matter tho, since u cant undo almost a decade worth of feelings with just a chance meeting with someone

good ending to a very solid drama anime

i want to ask you guys a question if you loose both of your parents at the childhood
what kind of person will you became ? Just think of all the children's at the orphanage. They have to suffer a lot.
Will you miss your parents and the love they have to offer i think answer to that question is yes and Hiromi tells exactly those thinks to Shin when she leaves their house.

I was looking for a good romance anime for reference in writing my book and I read that True tears was a good one. I watched it before but I forgot all about it so I read it again and realized why I rated it so low in the first place.
At the beginning I was a Hiromi fan. She was a likable character. But then they had to make turn her into a selfish person who isn't honest at all! Instead of confronting the issue (half-siblings) to Shin she just wellowed in it and became just like Shin's mother a jealous wife. What Shin needed was a person who inspires him, that isn't jealous and selfish. He needed Noe. Noe was good for him, and healthy. Hiromi has issues.
In the end Shin choose with his groin and not with his heart. Sure Hiromi will be fun for now but Noe is a life partner.
But what can you expect he's a teenager lol!
As someone else said, for me the series ends when Shin spelt out his confession to Noe.
(It was the only stuff I can use for my book anyway! I can't have my main guy pick with his lower half!!!!!!!! What fun is it for the rest of us girls who don't have the "perfect" body and looks! I want love not sex! Well maybe sex with love.... sorry I'll stop!)

Generally, I avoid this genre as I usually find them to be filled with unbelievably annoying characters making terrible decisions.

For some reason that I cannot remember, I decided to begin watching this Series a while ago, and just recently decided to finish it.

True tears for me, did not have annoying characters making unreasonable decisions as well as the overall general theme of this series was portrayed excellently.

Rated 8/10.

Everything was great up to the ending imo. Yeah, i was rooting for Noe, as most people do, but honestly....i just feel that she got treated unfairly.

She was the only one in the series that had honest and just feelings throughout the whole show, but in the end, she just got hurt...literally.

I was happy with Ai and Nobuse's outcome because it was more realistic, but damn...hitomi was kind of a bitch the whole time :\ oh well.

9/10. Only urk with this: Ending could have been better imo.

Also, i would so buy that book on Raigomaru and Jibeta if it was available.

This is one of the rare shows where i actually liked the whole love triangle. I liked Hiromi, but honestly i felt betrayed to see Noe alone at the end. Shinichiro made a bad choice. Also, Noe´s brother, poor guy, what an unhappy ending. He could be a supporting chara but he was simply great. Loving his sister so much, but never, not for one second he tried to be more than a brother. He kept being a great brother and a fatherly person to her. Great character!
In the end they managed to give two new friends to Noe, but it was so forced...it was a way of not leaving her totally alone.

But overall this probably the best school- romance ive watched;D

Wow. This is a first. I didn't hate any of the characters. Except some slight dislike for that mother of his, but that faded away later.
And his dad, is a kinda cool guy, in some way. Somehow the kind of person I see myself being in his age.
The overall bgm was great as well, some already brilliant scenes being made even better.

My only real complaint about the whole thing was the absolutely horrendous cgi. Wow, that was horrible. Lazy animators being too lazy to draw nowadays.
It can't be helped. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

Tl;dr splendid. As I was hoping, I really liked it, props to them buddies of mine who told me to watch it.
I might even consider giving it a 9/10. (Though for now, it's a solid 8.) Nope, 9 it is.

Average serie with a bad ending.

I was expecting a lot more of True tears and was looking forward to see it, thinking it would give a more realistic lovestory with some interesting drama but turns out it was just another soaplike excuse to earn money of people that likes to cry over selfish, naive and sad young love and sigh at melodramas like "I gave away my tears" and "I know you can fly, but not with me"...

I guess I should stop watch this type of romance, it can be very cute and full of heart, but it can also be too lame and well, stupid, and that was for me the case with True tears... Unfortunatly.

I gotta say I really didn't like the ending...

When Shin said "I'm in love with Hiromi" it died for me right there. I watched the last few minutes without any expression. I do have to admit that I've never been so confused with an anime or so suspenseful either. There were times where I thought he really was gonna pick Noe and others where I thought it was Hiromi. However, I always wished it would be Noe. They are so cute together and it just makes a lot more sense in my head. Hiromi seemed really selfish especially telling Noe 'leave us alone please' I thought that was very rude.

In the end I was pretty confused because Shin told Noe that "Even though he loves Hiromi, when he sees her his heart wavers." And that's where he cries. I think that was a very strong emotional scene but I do believe Noe was really important to him but he still wanted to wipe away Hiromi's tears since it was what he wished for since the beginning of the series.

Honestly, I thought he was gonna pick Noe and I'm actually very disappointed. By the way I wouldn't even dare saying that this could come even CLOSE to Clannad. Clannad is a masterpiece itself. I found a little too much cliches in True Tears but Noe's influence in the story was the reason I could actually like the show.

Ok ending to an otherwise great series. Better done than other romance anime. No magic stuff, "deus ex macina" type ending or even worse, "let's all be friends" kind of ending. All the major characters have some kind of resolution. And seeing Shin's pain at having to break the news to Noe is wonderfully done, shows he's a generally decent guy who was unsure about what to do.

My prediction was correct, after all. Hiromi end, and a bad end for both Isurugi siblings. Sad, and rather anticlimactic end. Shinichiro cried for the death of the little love he had for Noe. With that over, and all doubts gone, he moves on with Hiromi. Suddenly, I feel trolled for realizing that Noe basically ended up as a diversionary main character.

Those scenes in this episode with Shinichiro's mother were basically hinting she has come to accept Hiromi, as a potential, future daughter-in-law. That scene with Hiromi stretching was rather unnecessary though. Unexpected from a show that has nearly zero fanservice in it.

As a Noe fan, I feel sad for her, but at the same time good that she has become able to connect with her emotions, and cry. Good thing she has found friends to keep her company. The Noe fan in me says "Why couldn't they just have had one more male character in the story who could have become Noe's partner in the end?".

Love has finally bloomed for real for Aiko and Miyokichi as well, which is very nice, especially in the scenes from the epilogue. I actually feel a little tempted to consider the two of them as the real main couple now.

anyways 7/10 for a non-so emotional end, also...why Hiromi?!?! I think Noe had way more development than Hiromi, but right from the start I think it was pretty obvious were all this was going...sadly

*sigh*

well at least Aiko and Miyokichi could get it to work out in the end

The ending definately left something to be desired. I wasn't a Noe fan by any means and Hiromi made the most sense to me. It just lacked emotion/depth to me really. Perhaps I'm being a bit cold hearted, but I didn't find the ending with Hiromi very touching. Ah well, still not a bad watch 7/10.

Wow i'm the type of person that watches anime all the way to the end, be it bad or not. Because I see good points in every anime, and if something is truely bad I just stop and remove the anime from my list without giving it a childish 1/10 out of spite.

This anime would have been a solid 9/10 for me but the end just completely ruined it for me. This anime was truelly one of the best pure romance based anime I have seen so far and didn't use every cliche in the book. I was so glad I didn't have to wach perverted scenes all thrue the episodes and I was sooooooooo glad I didn't have to watch an other filler episode where they go to the beach and all girls are in bikini and blabla.. seriously nearly every anime romance has those... But episode 13 really destroyed it for me. To go back to my opening phrase this is the first time I skipped the ending and "completed" an anime without watching the full 23 minutes ... the moment he said Hiromi it was over and I saw it going all downhill, I skipped the entire part with shin x hiro and only watched the Noe parts. There was absolutely nothing I liked about Hiromi (not even the looks) but I guess that is part of your own personal taiste.

So I decided not to rate this anime as it would be biased greatly (like all other animes in my list) and I don't want to drag the score down just because of the last 10 minutes destroying the entire build up of the anime. Wish there was an alternative ending with Noe on a DVD edition or something ...
