Kitsukawa showed off more of his serious side. To keep the name of Minerva clean he stylishly beat the heck out of that scout. Quite brutally too, the nose break and pick was kind of crazy, he comes off as a total psycho path to contrast his playful beginnings quite well. I'd say it seems he's a playful to the point guy who does like Tatsuhiko but we've seen how quickly he can be scary when someone crosses him. Seeing that Tatsuhiko and Kitsukawa are on opposite sides I could see a day where Kitsukawa shows that brutality to him. Plus with the Ageha/Hideyoshi style paneling and narration it seems this arc may be centered around our boy Kitsukawa, on top of Tatsuhiko's prospects...
I must say however, even if Kitsukawa ends up an antagonist he had a far more likable introduction than Hideyoshi did. Perhaps Kitsukawa will be the inverse of Hideyoshi, he starts likable but threatening and ends up getting less and less likable. I could be going way too far, for all I know these two could be bros for life going forward. He also showed off how observant he is when he noticed Yuka's phone ringing, something Tatsuhiko didn't think about at all.
Yuka's words about Kitsukawa may have been to point Tatsuhiko into the direction of how he should work. Regardless, she's really looking out for him after hearing all he's been through. It's sweet. It was also adorable to have Tatsuhiko wanting to come back and tell his pals everything about what happened to him tonight! Come on over here Tori!!
Yet, it ended on what was foreshadowed, Inukai's conflict with Shinya. However, I expected Tatsuhiko to take this on with his newfound drive for leadership. His drive to look out for his people and aspire to be something a little greater, maybe like Mako would look out for him when he faced hard times! Instead, at least for now Inukai either went to Mako about it or Mako himself knew what was going on, he has his position for a reason. And, perhaps Inukai is also one of Mako's since he introduced him to Tatsuhiko, they may be one big family.
P.S. I love the paneling of this manga in moments like when Shinya saw Inukai's unforgiving gaze after hitting him. Those moments are some of the most beautiful to me and something I don't see emulated elsewhere. The visual storytelling in this is overall exceptional. That, and umm, Mako is so confident even when the hosts threatened him! He must have something up his sleeve, he wouldn't come here unprepared and with his gaze before being threatened it seemed to be he was assessing a threat he was prepared for. He is so cool, I understand Tatsuhiko's admiration for him even though he can be a little abusive or cruel.
When I first read this, I was focussed on the idea of Tatsuhiko and Kitsukawa being enemies. While probably not totally wrong, they technically are scouts of rival companies, and loyal, ambitious one's at that, we have now seen how they can interact on a professional level. In the Yamikin arc, Mako pushes Momozuka to drop out of the business and Seki and him end up coming off as friends even, referring to the time they met and when Seki laughed at Soga for getting beat by him suggesting he knew how strong he was. And how Momozuka could be seen as Minerva's Seki in a sense, I could see Kitsukawa and Tatsuhiko sharing a similar contrast and relationship, as honestly they already kind of do despite Tatsuhiko not being an executive. To clarify, I speak about professional terms because they do work together numerous times but it's generally always off the record, when Tatsuhiko is acting on his own separate from Burst which isn't what I worried about to begin with.
Overall Kitsukawa is pretty freaking entertaining. From the toilet brother nickname and his eccentricities to his brutality, care for Minerva's reputation, the words about him being famous for climbing the ranks so fast, it's a good introduction. A good intro for a character who cares about kindness and guts in others and will put his neck out for those he has no gain in doing so, but still maintaining a pretty ruthless ambition and desire. Definitely excited to see more of him when this series gets translated again which I hear should be soon!
