So they time traveled to the Edison era...

It's a low point for a man to threaten a young girl like Mari though. Edison is also smart than I thought, not only inventing but also seems to know how to do business. No wonder he was a big success.

Guessing the tornado thing at the end is a visual representation of a tear/hole/etc in the spacetime continuum.

Haha yeah, this, unfortunately is not a very representation, for two reasons:

1. Edison is probably the biggest douchebag in the history of inventors(which they sorta hinted at, but he was really bad sometimes)
2. Edison didn't actually invent the lightbulb, he just tried blindly over and over to make a practical one (though i guess they implied that)

Edison's method of trying over and over again through trial and error is a very terrible and inefficient method to solving problems. He wasn't even all that intelligent, just ridiculously determined. The method of foundational discovery is always through retroduction - deconstructing something empirical, and developing hypotheses on it's cause, and following the simplest and most likely. If he investigated the nature of incandescence, and it's thresholds (thermodynamics) and so on for example, he would have been able to solve one puzzle piece for the problem, and then work on the next. Once you had all the pieces solved it's as easy as slapping them together the right way (which you would have figured out by this point) and voila you have your new creation.

Edison always ends up this icon for hard work, without anyone realizing that, not only is his methodology unwise, he was also a humongous asshole. Hard work is only idealized in a business-run world, where they want you to work hard for their business, instead of work smart (which would eventually make the business obsolete, because there are ways of doing the same things which cost little to nothing).

The thing at the end was meant to be a "space-time paradox" in which Mikage's compass is the same as Hayase's. That means that Mari's dad must have returned or dropped off the compass somehow, also meaning, that whatever time he's in, be it past or present or future, he's stuck there. I i don't have any inside info, this is just my theory.

The after credits: Incandescence is an electrification phenomenon like plasma, in which energy is pumped into a material, and it radiates out. Everything does this always, but it's usually so faint and in ow frequency that you can't see it or notice it. When you eat something past it's point of capacitance to where discharge increases enough to push the emissions into the visible spectrum, you get light. All material has resistance, capacitance, permeability, and permittivity. Some materials you can best permittivity and magnetize it before you best it's resistance/capacitance and cause it to discharge. If something is weak material, or the discharge is great enough, it will deform, flare very brightly, or if put to extremes, like a meteor, it can explode.

Wow a jerkass's main inspiration was another jerkass. Who woulda thunk? Well, it worked out in Edison's case because he's now a famous historical figure everyone who even has a cursory level of Science recognize, for better or worse.

Mari's handling of the whole situation was kinda weird. A girl like her would've ran away from Mikage to safety. Perhaps her rather dunce behavior worked in her favor since that's how she managed to get rescued by her dad.

Looking forward to the inevitable fightan amidst a time tearing tornado.
I wish Cowboy Bebop never existed.

Damn that Melody always bother me. It plays again when Mari using the device, and this time she travel with Mikage.
Edison seems the only Inventor that doesn't even bother about that Time-Travel thingy or curious about the Future.

I am baffled for all this hate for Edison and that no one has noticed the big mistake in this episode, Edison was partially deaf from an early age, but we are lead to believe his hearing is normal.

That's the legend as told on the internet, in short: Tesla was a wildly superior scientist, while Edison was a wildly superior businessman.

So the "space-time paradox" is due to the compass, really interesting. Once again, it was a great episode with a lot of discovering things and actions.

Lol so the father got back in time and sold a Napoleon item to cover his debt for the time machine, this is bold, and the villain wants to do the same now.... meeting Thomas Edison and now Mari is reunited with her father, but something is happening in the end eh
