Do character designs get skimpier and more revealing the more explicit and suggestive genre goes ?
And vice versa, do character designs get more modest the more safe and general the genre goes ?

Sounds about right, although clothes that show less skin can also look hot. In this case the ecchi and hentai design looks less appealing to me.

I think yes, but I think shojo has more revealing outfits too, like early shojo era but for josei the women can be naked, and wear really sexy outfit I will say Yes.

But for the Design I like the Harem I think that's perfect for Akko

The last one I think is Perfect for Sucy.
