What's an anime people consider messed up that has no effect on you

I don't really get scared or shocked by fiction anymore, but I got grossed out by the scat scenes in https://myanimelist.net/anime/10851/Euphoria

Hentai in general touches on some pretty disturbing things that enough of it will progressively or completely desensitize you when it comes things you see in non-adult anime/manga.

higurashi when they cry... supposed to be gory and full of plot twists, but I just felt like rolling my eyes

@NoelleIsSleepy I had the same reaction when I was recommended the 2006 series. I think there was a scene where someone had their fingernails removed, that was the only scene that was somewhat disturbing to me.

Theres little to no anime that will scare you...

@NoelleIsSleepy There's something about fingernails and toenails getting ripped off that's really unsettling. Like how people hate the Squidward toenail scene from Spongebob. I don't know how to explain it.

@FanofAction absolutely, I'm actually a horror/gore/slasher film fan so must of those visuals don't phase me. but as soon as it comes to nail pulling I get the urge to look away. maybe it's because we instinctually know how many nerve endings are there, and how much it must hurt? idk

@NoelleIsSleepy That makes sense. I've noticed some people have a similar reaction to anything involving eyeballs, but that one I've always understood.

Most people seem to be grossed out because of boku no pico. I didn't have any problem when I read it. Nii-chan, from Harada, either. Guro, being real guro or anime guro also doesn't have much effect on me nowadays, but it used to when I was younger...

@weebtoge I think some stuff like that that seems to be going down a road for the sake of going down that road don't work on me because my brain is full of spite 24/7 and if something is going to be testy or edgy or weird etc for the sake of it I am not going to let myself get annoyed angry or any other emotion it wants. Like I get it's little boy stuff, but that's the only purpose of it, to illicit reaction over being little boy stuff, and I will not grant it that even in my own head in a world where nobody else cares or will ever know if I react or not lol.

No, I think Boku no Pico was intended as fap material. MW was made to illicit reactions.

People said Zeta Gundam was so dark and depressing and violent but it was pretty normal IMO, I feel like some Gundam fans want the anime to seem more adult than it already is. Like the themes it explores aren't already enough. Seeing an actual pale corpse in a bodybag in Gundam Thunderbolt did hit me though.

I remember people saying before the anime that part 5 of Jojo had a lot of gore in it. Again there wasn't really anything all that intense graphically, although some scenes made me uncomfortable for a few minutes- but it wasn't the bloody violent stuff or anything.

Besides maybe the umbrella death, everything else was just too goofy and predictable for me to get affected. By the end I was just laughing.

I also struggle with being truly shocked, that was my experience watching School Days. The infamous ending isn't what shocked me, it's how every character (except Kotonoha) has a horrible personality. I stayed for the drama though.
