Ah yes, Chise the selfless person would go out her way to do anything to help her friends. It doesn't surprise me one bit since that's the type of person she is.

I'm glad to see her friends did wake up though. Episode also had some cute and wholesome moments. To me, Chise is such a charitable person.

That's right Chise, as you are still only a child, you should stay away from the adult business ... like getting married ... Im sorry, but when you have not one, but two characters one right after another emphasising that, it's kinda funny, lol.

One would thought that something as dangerous as what happened to Lucy would have the colleague stuff be putting all the effort into finding the culprit, you know, for the safety of the rest of the students ...

Also, she touched his long snake ...

The Testament of Carnamagos is a real threat that has Simeon once sucked dry of his magic powers, and now this is happening with Lucy. But why these two were chosen instead of some other people, Elias is unsure to launch his own investigation, and for all intents and purposes, Chise wants in because she's worried for Lucy. However, with all the trouble that she's involved on, Chise is recommended to stay out of this, as she walks away and coincidentally meets Philomela wanting a renewed potpourri from her. Chise's classes continue as per normal with rune sorcery, and Zoe goes to see Lucy if she's alright, with the weird request of wantng to touch his hair-like snakes, a kin from her spider family. Though she won't be back home for awhile, knowing that Elias is doing his own things, there's some reassurance from Silky and Ruth.

With the sheep offered as a sacrifice to cross the contractual path, it woud've been different if Chise did not have a deal struck out. Getting some solace out of the centaur that escorts her and drives a methodical approach to her in regard to saving people, Chise trying to be selfish or selfless, only she knows. And since there is Halloween in school, finding out the culprit who has stolen the book is priority, but Lucy working for her own, disregarding her health and not wanting to take her brother Seth's money, she quite the hard-headed girl who's headed for the Waste Tower...not, with Zoe and Chise taking her place instead and Ruth looking after her.

Under the guise of Fabio Zaccheroni and Philomela accompanying the rest, the forbidden land of plants and minerals is dangerous, and Philomela's letter of resignation is quite the surprise.

Honestly, not sure of where this will be headed for next week's finale, it just felt unfinished.

The snake scene was a bit funny. Maybe there will be some important connection between them in the future, Chekhov's gun and stuff.
Silky nooo :(
Glad to see Chise being told how reckless she really acts.
Now the ending is interesting. I suppose Philomela is being forced to cooperate with the people in possession of the book
There are a lot of unresolved things so I'm expecting a second cour announcement for this too.

Chise is jealous that Elias has a friend. "Let me pet your snake " sounds so lewd Danger is everywhere and no one is trustworthy

This episode delved into some of the characters and how reckless they can be, for better or for worse. In Chise's case, she has a bit of a savior complex, as she always seems to put others over her own well-being, resulting in her getting hurt. The centaur tried to talk some sense into her, as well as asking if helping others was her being selfish or selfless. As Elias looked to investigate what is sucking the magic powers out of Simeon and Lucy, Chise was recommended to stay out of it, but knowing her, she'll find a way to be part of it probably. Philomela continued to be a mystery as well, and as Chise and Zoe go into the waste tower, and into a place of forbidden plants and creatures, it could be quite dangerous.

With one episode left, I feel there are still way too many questions remaining to solve, so I wonder how this season will wrap up, or if we'll get another cour soon. Not really sure where they're going with this.

Yeah the whole existence of that dude who had a brief appearance in the end was screaming trouble. No surprise Chise and co. are in for a lot of work next episode.

Now again there are many mysteries and puzzles left to be answered. Needless to say we won't get much of them with only one episode left. So either we'll get a new cour/season announcement next week or it was just intended to be this way since the start and they'll leave just like that. Though I doubt the later possibility.

Wait, there's only one episode left... I really, truly hope they don't pull out some horrifically-rushed mess to wrap up the arc. I'd rather see a cliff-hanger for the various unravelled threads and conclude with even an OVA series for the absolutely bonkers, horrifying conclusion to the spiders, the book, the werewolves, the various families, etc. No no no way they can finish what's left of the current college arc in one episode without it being an absolute disaster...

Besides, if I'm being honest, I've really enjoyed the laidback pacing for the season, it's really let the character relations simmer and the little things shine in the best ways.

Finally someone tells Chise to smarten up. Good guy centaur postman. Guess this sketchy guy with Philo is connected to the book thing. Well probably somewhat of a resolution on a few things next episode since it's the conclusion of this season. Tho idk if this season is getting a "part 2" or not. For some reason I feel like I heard it was but I could be going insane.

I haven't read the manga so, I can only assume the way she became interested in the rose/thorn runes is either because elias uses them to attack, which I would find boring... or that she herself has an affinity for them, maybe my head canon, but in the opening of season 1 Chise was features heavily alongside thorns, sure elias was there, but hey it may be

also loved Zoe/Lucy's interaction this episode
Being a fan is like having a penis. Its nice to be proud of it But don't pull it out in public and wave it in other's faces

Zoe and Lucy's interaction with his snakes was a pretty cute moment, I must say. =)

With the contract payment made to those creatures, it was a good thing for the centaur postman to tell Chise about how she overly relies on being reckless in order to solve issues. Granted, some of the things that she's dealt with so far were ones that she had no other choice but to go down the reckless route, but he's spot on to tell her to be more patient and observe before jumping in head first.

Having said that, with Chise and the others in the waste section of the college with a teacher that isn't the most trustworthy to some, it might present an opportunity for Chise to use the centaur's advice in action if possible. We'll find out next week if that happens or not.

Good episode overall.

Centaur dude was spitting facts. Chise really needs to start thinking logically and stop prioritizing others over herself.

Also yeah, this arc is clearly not gonna end next week so I wonder if they will make a "Part 2" announcement right after the finale just like Dr. Stone S3 did.

Some actually big development for Elias and Chise. Elias stepping up after Simeon who he now considers his first friend gets hurt is big, dude not only made his first friend after years but is also going out his way to find the attackers, i'm really looking forward more to the story now that Elias seems more involved. Chise on the other hand pretty much got a "reality smack" by the centaur. He didn't sugar coat it, nor be nice about it, but in all honesty it definitely sent the message better. He told her something that needed to be said about her very self sacrificing side and i think his quote "Or are you just being greedy and trying to be important?" was a good way to phrase it. Hopefully this will be the eye opener Chise needs to realise that her self sacrificing for other's, is hurting herself and those around her equally as well.

Wow i really didn't expect the waste tower to be something so, sinister. Thought it would be a massive recycling site, not a tower dedicated to the college's failed SCPs that can't be killed so they just stuff them into a tower which also has pretty ores. Honestly feels like a tradagey waiting to happen.

Ayyy more Silky screen time, i'll take what I can get at this rate. Even if the plot of s2 revolves more around Chise and Elias at the college, i'd still love any Silky screen time, she's just really cute even if this scene could possibly be the last of this season cus it was technically Chise telling her they'd be away for a while.

I feel like that one scene about runes, and Chise focusing on the one rune that has connections to thorns was pretty interesting considering one of Elias's titles is "Child of Thorn". Maybe some really deep foreshadowing for something down the road, cus it feels way to coincidental and important if they dedicate a scene for it.

I'm happy that Chise is so kind to Philomela, despite her being too anxious while around her. It feels like she needs every ounce of kindness, especially since her grandmother is so cruel towards her. I hate the grandmother with all my heart. I'm getting massive love vibes from Lucy and Zoe, they're so cute. I hope they end up together in the end.

I have to say that Philomela looks attractive with her hair down.

The only runes I'm familiar with are the Sieg runes used by the Schutzstaffel. They are so fucking badass! I wish I had lived during WW2, and I could've served in the Einsatzgruppen.

A new ship has sailed? Lucy and Zoe? Hehe!
Aww, poor Silver. She's gonna be home alone for a while again.
Nice attention to detail with how Ruth reacted to the smell of oranges. Dogs do hate the smell of citrus. I sometimes tease my dog with orange peels. Haha!
Damn, is Fabio one of the culprits in the attack on Simeon?
