| Real Megane is back voicing Ryunnosuke's father. His scream is just legendary and really fitting for the role. Umi ga suki!! Btw Ryunnosuke's design looks really good. |

I just find it funny when people get to the point of considering the whole anime to be ruined because of a single character who doesn't even get the dignity of having a first name. I don't have to disagree with a character hate comment to find it funny, it's just the disparity between my lax opinion, and some people's very extreme opinions gets me. Then again, as this is an anime where every single character has an extremely vibrant personality, there are going to be a few characters that everybody hates. |

He's probably the worst character in any Rumiko Takahashi work. I understand why he's written like that. He's a parody of all the "perverted old guy who's actually a master of martial arts" type characters from the 80s like Master Roshi. These characters were more or less treated as harmless jokes in their anime and Takahashi flipped the script on them by introducing Happosai who pretty much has the same quirks as the characters from other manga but without the manga glorifying him or treating him as someone who should be respected. Chiba Shigeru is quite experienced with annoying character (e.g Yotsuya of Maison Ikkoku or various background charas in Takahashi's works), so I can rest assured. I wonder if Ryu's dad is the prototype for Happosai (both adult/senior stronger obsessive and jerkass), just like Ryu to Ranma? I did see a few people who liked Happosai though. And again, I have no idea what goes on in their minds. |

I think both Ryunosuke and her father are somewhat a prototype for Ranma and his father Genma to be exact |

Sometimes his trolling and screaming could be really funny and he also allows Ryunosuke to be on spotlight too so he's kind of double edgesword. His dynamic with Ryunosuke is what makes Ryunosuke's character stood out and works. |
