| Ichigo would have run down the spiral staircase if he hadn't been told the Quincies have already started their attack. So instead, he divebombs through the center of the spiral. Meanwhile, Rukia faces off against As Nodt, the man who stole her brother's Bankai. Rukia's now capable of freezing her own body to counteract his fear attacks, but when As Nodt unleashes his Vollstandig, it takes a pep talk from Byakuya to get her back into fighting shape. Then Rukia uses her Bankai, Hakka no Togame, to freeze As Nodt solid. |

| Episode 20 Next up, it's Yachiru and Isane against Gwenael, and that battle didn't last long as Gremmy came in to kill Gwenael. And of course, Kenpachi would show up to fight Gremmy as after all Yachiru is his adoptive daughter. Gremmy's mind is his weapon, and it's quite a powerful thing seeing that he can use the shadow clone jutsu. But Kenpachi lives for a battle like this, and then Gremmy and his shadow clone, summons a huge fireball. But as Kenpachi puts it, there's nothing he can't cut. It turns out that Gremmy's body is just his brain and his body is merely his imagination becoming reality. Another intense battle that is, though the way it started was rather unexpected as I thought that Yachiru would have her hands full dealing with Gwenael. And then there's Kenpachi taking his power to the next level. |
| A battle featuring Kenpachi is always going to be a massive brawl. Gremmy's greatest weapon is his imagination, but Kenpachi shows he can take anything the Quincy can dish out, as he unleashes his humongous cleaver of a Zanpakuto, Nozarashi, to cleave a meteor in twain. In the end, Gremmy's imagination proves to be a double-edged sword, as his body can't keep up and he becomes nothing more than a brain. |

| Episode 21 Bambietta's entourage gangs up on Kenpachi, but Ichigo comes shooting down like a meteorite. Unfortunately, his entrance has created a path to the Royal Palace, which is just what Yhwach was waiting for. Ichigo tries to get to Yhwach before he leaves, but Uryu stops him before he can. Not even Chad and Orihime arriving can prevent Yhwach, Haschwalth, and Uryu from advancing on Squad Zero. |

| Episode 21 Ichigo has finally arrived, and not a moment too soon. While Kenpachi won his battle against Gremmy, he's battered and beatened, making him a sitting duck for the four Stern Ritter ladies. Ichigo shows off his new powers for the first time since acquiring his own Zanpakuto, and it's impressive. In the meantime, Yhwach is making his move on the Soul Society and Uryu is stopping Ichigo and company from approaching him. Great to finally see Ichigo back in action there, and everybody is together as well with Orihime and Chad with him as well, but Ichigo has a really tough battle ahead. |

| Next week will evidently be a recap episode, so I'm not sure if Hulu will stream it. As a result, both episodes 25 and 26 will air on September 30 to close out part 2. |

| Hulu's not streaming the recap this week, leaving only the new dubbed episode for me to watch. Anyone else having issues where after ads are finished (if you don't have the ad-free option), the stream starts a few seconds after it should? I don't like it when that happens, especially when it cuts off part of someone speaking. And it's happened with quite a few episodes. |

| Episode 22 While Kisuke and Yoruichi prepare a trip to the Royal Palace for Ichigo, Chad, and Orihime, Yumichika and Ikkaku have to deal with Bambietta, who has been turned into a zombie by Giselle. Then Mayuri shows up to even the score. When Giselle calls forth all the Squad 11 members who were sprayed with her blood, Mayuri brings out four Arrancars the Soul Reapers fought previously. But when Bambietta is dispatched, Giselle calls out an unexpected trump card: she's turned Toshiro into a zombie too! |

| Episode 22 The zombie apocalypse has come, or at least the start of it as Giselle has turned several Soul Reapers including Hitsugaya into zombies. And among them is Bambietta, as Ikkaku and Yyumichika need to deal with that girl. While the Soul Reapers continue to have their hands full, Ichigo, Chad, and Orihime are coming to help out with an assist from Kisuke and Yoruichi. Just when it looked like Yumichika and Ikkaku were about to join Giselle's zombie army, Mayuri and Nemu come to the rescue as the mad scientist has his own army to fight back. |
| Episode 23 Mayuri uses a drug that makes Toshiro go through a time loop numerous times, ultimately leaving him paralyzed so he can administer another drug. But three more zombified people show up. Not Rangiku, too!? And Kensei and Rose have also been turned by Giselle! Meanwhile, Byakuya easily dispatches three Quincies, but when Shuhei shows up, they actually start fighting each other. Turns out Pepe is controlling Shuhei's will. After disabling Shuhei, Byakuya goes at Pepe but has a bit of trouble. Then Mayuri shows up with some unexpected reinforcements, as he managed to wrest control of Giselle's zombies from her. Pepe ends up getting devoured by Liltotto. Elsewhere, Yhwach, Uryu, and Haschwalth have arrived at the Royal Palace. |

| Episode 23 Just leave it to Mayuri to come up with some crazy invention or medicine to turn the tide as his drug knocks Hitsugaya out. He's a prodigy alright there, but his emotions hold him back. In the meantime, more zombies show up, and Giselle makes even more zombies. And then there's the next Stern Ritter attacks as Pepe has the power of love and he even controls one of the Stern Ritter girls as he battles Byakuya. But in the end, Pepe is taken down by Liltotto as she's none too pleased at that he's trying to steal Giselle's thunder there. The battles continue as first there were stolen Bankais, and now these guys are becoming zombified. |
| Episode 24 So it turns out that Yhwach lost his eyes thanks to the Soul King, but that hasn't stopped him from carrying his conquest as he infiltrates the Soul Palace to defeat the Soul King. Alongside Yhwach is the Stern Ritter Weizol, but he is easily defeated by Senjumaru and her sewing needle. But Yhwach brings out his royal guards and they overpower Senjumaru. Or so they thought as they ended up stepping into the fake Soul Palace and they walked right into a trap where Nimaiya takes everybody down. But Yhwach managed to get out of the trap and he's now battling Ichibe. Yhwach sure has ramped up his campaign to take down the Soul Society and now he's at the Soul Palace. Next time, it will be two episodes to finish the second of four parts that brings Bleach to an end. |
| Turns out Yhwach is the Soul King's son, and he intends to kill him, as the chaos that would result from the three worlds joining is his main objective. But just when it seemed like his forces dispatched Senjumaru, it's revealed they're in a cage set up by Squad Zero. Oh-etsu takes down Yhwach's Royal Guards with a super-sharp blade. However, Yhwach manages to escape the cage. Meanwhile, Ganju decides to join Ichigo, Chad, Orihime, and Yoruichi up to the Royal Palace. |

| Part 3 is coming 2024, but the season hasn't been specified at this time. Most likely, it will be for the spring season. Episode 25 Yhwach continues his assault on the soul palace as Ichibe engages in battle against him, and Nimaiya continues to battle his agents. One of them gives Nimaiya a tough time, but he's overflowing with blood, and after a self-inflicted wound, he uses that to distract and take down one of the Stern Ritters. And then Auswahlen is unleashed as Yhwach takes the life force out of his comrades that can't fight and distributes it to himself to annihilate Squad Zero. That Yhwach is quite the ruthless leader seeing that he sees the Stern Ritters are just pawns to fulfill his great ambition. And then Ukitake is up to something there at the end. Episode 26 To end the second of four parts, Ichibe fights back with a special power that deprives its target of its name, thus making the formerly named power useless. Things are looking bleak as the Stern Ritters trapped in the cage manage to break out of the cage, but the Royal Guard was holding back. Senjumaru unleashes her Bankai, and then Ichibe crushes Yhwach with the power of Black. What becomes him remains to be seen, but I have a feeling that while Yhwach is down, he's far from out. And then it ends with an omake segment hosted by Kon, and that was rather silly to have it at the end there. And thus, it wraps up the second part that was mostly action-based between the Soul Reapers and the Stern Ritters with Ichigo and the main case not getting much screen time here. Nevertheless, it continues to be great and I look forward to the next part when it comes out. |

| Squad Zero slowly gains ground, though Oh-etsu needs a bit of help from Tenjiro to take down Askin. Meanwhile, Ichibe messes around with names while fighting Yhwach. But the tables turn when Yhwach invokes Auswahlen to steal the powers of all the Quincies still in the Seireitei and redistribute them to his Royal Guards. Kirio, Oh-etsu, and Tenjiro kill themselves so that Senjumaru can unleash her Bankai in one final attack, effectively sewing the Royal Guards into cloth. Ichibe unleashes his Zanpakuto's power to remove Yhwach's name and replace it with one that invokes great weakness. Jushiro seems to have something up his sleeve, and Yhwach may be down, but does he have a trick of his own? Part 2 concludes with a few omake segments reminiscent of the original series, though they're not as...detailed as previous ones, shall we say. |

| A new special for Burn the Witch just dropped on Crunchyroll. Seeing that this is by Tight Kubo and set in the same universe as Bleach that I'll just mention it here. Seeing that this is considered to be Episode 0.8 that it takes place before the events of the three-episode special that aired in 2020. Pretty much, it's just as crazy as I remember it, utilizing more of the lighthearted elements of Bleach. And now that I have seen it in the most recent part of Thousand-Year Blood War, Noel's character design looks like is based off Giselle, and Ninny is based off Hiyori, who is a Vizard. Anyway, it was an entertaining enough short that will fill the gap a bit while waiting for the third of four cours to arrive sometime in 2024. |
| Episode 27 The third of four cours begins with the fight between Ichibe and Yhwach, and while Ichibe delivers a big shot by stripping Yhwach of his name and being replaced by Black Ant, that only gets Yhwach to unleash his ultimate ability, the Almighty. Seeing that Yhwach is the leader of the Quincies that of course he was going to have another trick up his sleeve and can only be defeated by Ichigo. Ichibe tries one last attack to throw Yhawach's soul in the black, but he saw through the attack and kills Ichibe. While that's going on, Uryu and the rest of Yhwach's squad takes out the rest of Squad Zero, and now Yhwach kills the Soul King, revealed to be his father. But unbeknownst to Yhwach, Ichibe has returned to life, and he's ordering Ichigo and company to stop him. This goes to show just how much of a monstrosity Yhwach is and it's going to take everything they can throw at him and then some to take him down. |

| Yhwach's true power awakens, and he overwhelms Ichibe, while his power flows through Uryu, resulting in the other Stern Ritters breaking through Senjumaru's Bankai. Ichibe tries an attack involving a kabuki dance, but Yhwach sees through the attack and tears Ichibe's body apart. Uryu pierces Senjumaru's heart, but it seems he struggles a bit to restrain his power after the finishing blow. Ichigo's group arrives at the Royal Palace, and Ichigo calls out Ichibe's name to restore his body. Ichibe asks the group to protect the Soul King, but it is already too late, as Yhwach has pierced his body with his sword. |

| Episode 27 : Direct back to business. Senjumaru's bankai is so classy! Uryuu evolved so much since the beginning of the story! Ichibei song is a bit out of place, mostly because it's totally ineffective. How I love to see even just one seconde of my favourite character at the end <3 Musically I don't really like the opening and the ending, but visually I love them. |
| Episode 28 Yhwach has killed the Soul King, who is revealed to be his father, and Ichigo comes in to fight Yhwach, showing off the power of his new Zanpakuto after going through the full process of making it his own. While he makes the first strike, Yhwach was just sitting back as he can read Ichigo like a book. And then he reveals the Soul King, who has been impaled but not is not dead yet. However, this was all totally planned by Yhwach as he uses the Quincy blood within Ichigo to take control of his body and kill the Soul King. With the Soul King slain, the Soul Society, living world, and Hueco Mundo are all starting to crumble. That was quite the evil scheme there to make Ichigo kill the Soul King against his will and bin the end of the world that much closer to happening. |
| Ichigo faces Yhwach, and it seems they're evenly matched. But Yhwach gains new pupils and starts reading Ichigo like a book. Then he reveals his sword embedded in the Soul King's body. Ichigo manages to pull it out, but it's a trap, and he's forced to slash the Soul King in twain. Yhwach has used Ichigo as his unwilling pawn, and now the effects are being felt across all three worlds. |

| Episode 28 : Beautiful fight, nothing to complain about, I'm just tired of omnipotent villain who we perfectly know he will loose at the end. |
| Episode 29 And now, an episode focused on Ukitake as he's one of the more level-headed Soul Reapers in the Soul Society, and is connected to the Mimihagi. He was born with an incurable lung disease and quickly became close friends with Shunsui. It turns out that Ukitage is the embodiment of Mimihagi, the Soul King's right hand, and his lung disease is proof of that as now it manifests itself. And then Aizen is back. Here I thought that the Quincies broke out and he became the Stern Ritter Askin to get revenge against the Soul Society, but he was imprisoned all this time and this time he's going to fight against Yhwach now that the Soul King has been slain. |
| Jushiro releases the power keeping him alive, known as Mimihagi, the Soul King's right hand. Now Jushiro is basically standing in as the Soul King, but it won't last forever. And as Shunsui reminisces about his youth with Jushiro, he heads down into the prison where Sosuke Aizen is being held. Shunsui unlocks three of Sosuke's restraints, and he plans to bring him up to the surface. |

| Episode 30 After Yhwach forcefully made Ichigo kill the Soul King, Ukitake became its replacement, while Yoruichi erects a barrier around it to stabilize the Soul Society. That is, until Uryu comes in and shoots Yoruichi and breaks the barrier, and then Ichigo fights Uryu. While Ichigo is busy fighting Uryu while Chad, Orihime, and Ganju are fighting the Stern Ritters, Yhwach is trying to end the Soul King for good with Ukitake being the last line of defense. And then Uryu shoots down Ichigo after he refuses to hit him. The bad situation looked like it was getting better, but it gets worse now that Uryu is fully on-board with the Quincies and their plan to destroy the Soul Society and helps Yhwach absorb the Soul King. |
| Ichigo breaks free from Yhwach's trap, and Yoruichi tries to encase the Soul King in a barrier. But Uryu interferes with their efforts, and soon he and Uryu fight each other while the other Stern Ritters take on Chad, Orihime, and Ganju. Uryu eventually shows the full extent of his resolve with his own Vollstandig, and he shoots Ichigo down. Then Yhwach borrows the power of all the Stern Ritters to cleave the Soul King's crystal further, and he takes the Soul King's body and power into himself. I think that Uryu's comment about not being able to forgive "the one who took everything from me" without actually naming said person bears some credence. |

| Episode 29 : Besides the return of perfection incarnate which has lost none of its power, it was very nice to see Ukitake's story brought to life. |
| Episode 31 Aizen has been released on Shunsui's orders and thanks to Kurotsuchi's restraints he can't use his full powers. But right away some Stern Ritters attack led by Bazz-B, however these guys aren't there to fight. They have been tossed to the curb by Yhwach and are looking to get revenge on him, so they decide to join forces with the Soul Reapers. So with that, the decision has been made to storm the Royal Palace as everybody gathers, including Aizen and the Quincies who defected. Also joining their cause are the Vizards, as well as Grimmjow. So now, the campgain begins to take down Yhwach now that he has fused with the Soul King, and the Soul Reapers are going to need all the help they can get. |
| A swarm of monsters envelops the Seireitei, but Aizen blows them all away. But then Nanana tries to restrain Aizen's power. However, Bazz-B shoots Nanana down, and he, along with Gisele and Liltotto, arrange a cease fire with the Soul Reapers. Shunsui calls every able-bodied person together to create a gate to storm the Royal Palace. Meanwhile, Ichigo wakes up, and his group prepares to do the same, when someone surprising shows up: Grimmjow. |

| Episode 30 : Despite the various fights, I must admit that I was a little bored. The episode is quite poorly articulated, the scenes lack transition and it makes the whole thing heavy and laborious. Episode 31 : It's been a long time since an episode of Bleach was this enjoyable! Perfect from start to finish. |
| Episode 32 More help arrives as the Arrancars Grimmjow and Nel have arrived to lend a hand, along with the Fullbringers Riruka and Yukio, as well as the three defecting Stern Ritters, Aizen, and Yoruichi's brother Yushiro. Seeing that Grimmjow wants himself and not Yhwach to defeat Ichigo that it's motivation enough for him to side with the Soul Reapers in this battle. So with that, it's time to take back the Royal Palace. Pretty much, this is all just buildup towards the final battle to take back the Soul Society since it's going to take everything they can get to defeat Yhwach and his hencmnen. |
| Nel came along with Grimmjow as well, along with Riruka and Yukio of the Fullbringers. They take a route that the Fullbringers constructed to the Royal Palace, while Ichigo is frustrated that he was left out of the loop. At the same time, Kisuke and all the Soul Reapers create a gate, and they head to the Royal Palace as well. But Yhwach has remade the Royal Palace in his own image. |

| Episode 33 And now, the final battle begins. After some final preparations, everybody goes and scatters. First battles are Grimmjow vs. Askin and Renji vs. Uryu, and as to be expected the battles are quite intense given the stakes. |
| Everyone starts running to the center of the new complex, Wahr Welt. Grimmjow chases after Askin, but eventually gets incapacitated by a poison bomb. Fortunately, Ichigo shows up just before Askin can kill him. Meanwhile, Lille starts sniping the Soul Reapers, and Renji unleashes his true Bankai against Uryu. But Uryu recovers quickly and saps Renji of his power before shooting him through the chest. The English dub resumes next week with three episodes on Hulu, likely to catch up with Disney Plus having put them up in other countries over the past few weeks beforehand. |

| Episode 32 : we agree that if they had completely freed the story would already be over, right? It feels good to see these characters again, I like it when a long-running work ends and brings back characters ♥️ |
| Episode 34 Now it's Kenpachi against Pernida, and Pernida's attack causes Kenpachi's arm to shrivel up and would have killed him had he not cut it off. Mayuri goes in and stuns Kenpachi as he deals with Pernida himself, who has become the Soul King's left arm. It then becomes a war of words as Pernida is none too pleased at the insults Mayuri is hurling at him. Pernida tries to amputate Mayuri's arm, but this guy is a master surgeon. And then Mayuri unleashes a modified version of his Bankai that eats Pernida for lunch. Mayuri puts on quite the clinic there showing that he is a mad scientist. |
| Kenpachi and Mayuri encounter Pernida, and Kenpachi's reckless attacks backfire as his arm twists and contorts, forcing him to cut it off. Mayuri paralyzes Kenpachi before he can hurt himself further, and he starts insulting Pernida. Pernida grows furious, and he rips off his cloak, revealing himself to be the Soul King's left arm. Pernida can infiltrate his nerves into anything, even the buildings around them. Mayuri ultimately uses a modified version of his Bankai with its nerves on the outside of its body, and it gobbles up Pernida like finger food. |

| Episode 33 : First of all, I have a problem with Askin, he stands out in the universe, he seems to come straight from JoJo >< otherwise, the Uryu vs Renji fight is just anthological, perfectly mastered, the tension and satisfaction are at their maximum. Episode 34 : Mayuri is one of the most nuts characters in manga history, I love him. It's nice to see an episode 90% of the time on a single scene rather than the usual back and forth. |
