K-ON! is arguably THE best CGDCT, but if we are to chose a classic, I'd say it's Lucky Star.

K-On! is one of the classics. But it will never be the best or under only CGDCT category. This band of girls is much more. Anyway, K-On! is a masterpiece

K-On is kind of white noise to me. It is one of the popular slice of life anime that I would not recommend like Hyouka. My taste for slice of life is more for stuff like Mitsudomoe, Kunoichi Tsubaki, Gabriel Dropout, or Aria the Animation.

I'm not sure if it's the best CGDCT anime out there. I loved season 1 but season 2 felt a lot weaker to me.

My personal favorite in the genre is Wataten. It doesn't get cuter than that imho.

When k-on was airing, they where post that people that never watch anime were seeing k-on on Japan, that's why it became more popular.

I can't disagree. It was the anime that brought the idea of CGDCT to light. There has been others before this but they didn't have the same effect that K-ON! did.
Which one do you want? An Addiction or A Good Life?
A) Addiction - a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure.
B) A Good Life - a progressive expansion of the things that bring you pleasure and includes pleasure through motivation and hard work.

it is the 2nd most classic CGDCT anime to me, with number one being Hidamari Sketch, and both anime are serialized in the same manga magazine, and Manga Time Kirara titles in general are the pinnacle to making CGDCT anime into God Tier anime
