The other Love Live anime are clast as alternative settings because they exist within the same canon, in which the eponymous Love Live completion exists, and school idols are widespread, but aren't sequels or spinoffs to each other, as their plots and casts all differ. I'd say it's more a case of "alternative setting" being a default label for otherwise-unrelated franchisees. |
