Is the LN and Manga had a different story?

It said that this is an alternate story so i thought it the two are probably had a different story, so is it does?

After finishing this novel I re-read the manga by takeshi obata and gotta conclude the story is the same, but the light novel has a lot of details that you would think would come op while re-living the same day all over again, as well as fully R rated speach which feels slightly more realistic than the manga version, on the other hand, the manga is a lot faster to read and the art is great in that one despite some of the suits fighting was a little unclear. Anyway I liked them both about the same way.
