| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I'm going to miss this series a bit. Admittedly, I did enjoy the more slice-of-life feel this anime had in season one. However, I'm not exactly opposed to how they took season two for a more dramatic approach. I was talking to my brother about it at some points and explaining to him how sad Misao's arc was. First, she pretty much feels that Sasami takes her spotlight/that she's ignored in a way. She then gains power as a leader only to mostly fail due to not being able to lead. And really, her friends did actually kinda ignore her before during that cooking scene. It just made me think like, "Whoa, so what is she supposed to do??" It was perhaps a little odd to have the conclusion ultimately be that she needs to speak up and use the light within her. Yadda. Meanwhile, I really loved how they went from her using worms, to being in a cocoon, to having butterflies. I should have seen that coming, but also I wasn't expecting all that based off of season one. Also, pretty much rip Amitav. |
