Chika’s solo was the best part of the episode. His performance was absolute beauty.

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. Even though this was pretty sappy, this was the first episode I really enjoyed. Although there is no way in HELL some random bunch of people could play like this after just a month of practice.

This was beautiful! Their bond- Kujo's emotions- everything!
This play was just so beautiful

I hope that kicked everyone, especially the vice-principal, out of their sorry asses

I guess after this performance the 7th member will join?

Nice to finally see the tsundere showing a softer side, romance was the main reason I started to watch this (today).
Their performance at the end was quite soothing, and that vice-director asshole got owned really well, Satowa showing her manipulative skills~~

What an amazing episode, I'm moved! It already starts really well with Houzuki overwhelmed by guilty and regret over having misjudged Kudou so badly. Fortunately she soon runs into him and is able to say that she is sorry. It's a pity that after it the scene went into a more comical direction, but it was still a very cute and important moment between them. Then we see them practicing again as the showtime approaches, and I just loved how the granny adviced and encouraged them at the same time by saying that they should think about who they are playing for, who they want to reach, and that their sounds are perfect to surpass the preconceptions people have of them.

Takezou was cool on the mic after he got a hold of himself, but he is still being supported by Kudou and Houzuki who are the true pillars of the team. As someone who used to be as meek as him depending on the situation I sympathize, but I'm glad he is making progress and I'm hoping to see more of him being firm, and helping them like when he decided to stand up for Kudou in the beginning again.

Then the performance starts and it was a twirl of emotions, I couldn't even blink! The music was amazing, and I loved how it was mixed with flashbacks; Tetsuki is an even greater comrade than what I thought, and I already held him in the highest regard. It was only because he was there for Kudou, just like his grandfather, that Kudou didn't give up on himself, realizing he had people who truly cared when no one else bothered to look beyond appearances. It pains me to know that his grandfather is no longer with him. He would be proud.

They slipped during it too, but Houzuki, with her experience and sheer skill, was able to put them back on track. And then Kudou's solo moved everyone just like hers did, maybe even more for being so "unexpected". He began to play for his grandfather, then his friends, and then the audience. It was great and I loved the climax too. I couldn't believe when it was over because I craved for more, and it was really weird to not hear applause and cheers. I guess they were too taken aback to react. Can't wait for the next episode.

Your comment described my feelings so well, I just decided to quote you. I will add there are some amazing characters in this series and I love the growing camaraderie. Looking forward to the next episode as well as the rest. I already want a season 2.

Truthfully it was so heartfelt episode the flashback give the koto playing more depth and emotional. I felt the connection and started to tear up. That is how strong the scene for me.

Awesome to finally hear the whole song. They were terrific.

And Grandpa Kudo, I think I love you. Oh, and Tetsuki is a pretty incredible guy, too.

I haven't mentioned it yet, but I love the pants/skirts and shoes the guys wear at this school. Is that a common uniform choice in Japan?

Seriously! The way they played, was so heart touching.
Until now, it was the best episode From episode 1.

When I heard Hozuki playing the first high note, on the stage, It felt so mesmerising. No doubt their whole piece became a masterpiece because of Hozuki.

The Remark of a girl "I didn't realize Koto was so..", I completed in my head "So soothing to the ears"

Along with them playing, Kudo's story was also shown in flashbacks (making their play even more emotional) and when he remembered a memory of his grandfather crying because he smiled, came exactly at the moment when was playing solo, this all depicted his feelings for his GRANDPA, calling him in his head "Hey Granddad. You can hear this.. Right?" And after that, the climax
IT BANGED ON! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The whole episode was so Meaningful!
Hozuki knowing Kudo's story and then apologising for being rude was quite a scene. Kudo isn't used to her being so nice to him so he immediately said that she looks scary being so nice to him ๐Ÿ˜‚ He kind of felt touched, thinking that she was crying because of her rude behaviour, so he ultimately found her cute enough to be complimented like this "So you CAN be cute sometimes, huh? Satowa-chan?" ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Looking forward to more Of Kudo, Hozuki, And Koto club ๐Ÿ˜

I also loved their uniform and pants/skirts Since all the anime have same uniform, it was kind of unique for me as well.

So far I’m liking the pacing of this series. I’m also starting to like Houzuki’s personality. I though at first that she was a stubborn girl but thenn she apologize to Chika for what she said before.

That part when they started to play the Koto were also done good especially when they put some flashbacks in it, makes it more interesting.

I’m impressed how they gets so good in just a month XD

So far this is my favorite episode in the series.

Beautifully crafted performance and episode. I can't help but think back on this episode and it's ability to drive emotion and connect, reminds me of Your Lie in April and Liz and the Blue Bird and I love this ep because of it.

They have a club advisor? Why didn't Takezou know or mention this before, as he's the oldest member and the club president?

I love this episode, if that "meteor shower" didn't move the school, maybe an asteroid impact will!

Chika's tragic life flashbacks has been on repeat since episode 1 that it's starting to bore me but seeing Tetsuki cry got me real good this time! T_T

Loved this episode. Houzuki apologising to Chika was really sweet. At least she has empathy within her & isn’t as one-dimensional & cold as she seemed. The smiles that everyone gave Enoki Junya’s character after he made that speech made me smile. They are so wholesome!

Ah, Chika is really the best boy. Him wanting to invite the obachan was so cute too!!!!! But we have already established that Tetsuki is THE best boy. He had so much compassion & care for Chika & was there for him when he had no one. Chika’s grandpa was such a solid man too. Those rice balls!!!! Lolol. Made me miss my grandpa too :’)

Yuuma’s ED definitely hit differently. Speechless indeed. That was a great performance & Chika’s solo made me all teary-eyed (;´เผŽเบถูนเผŽเบถ`)

I'm rewatching this anime currently and I wish the production for all the episodes were better, particularly for the visual impact of this particular performance just because it adds so much more layers to what's already a great sounding and emotional rollercoaster of a performance. It was a class episode but would've hit that masterpiece level if visually was just better so that it complements the atmosphere of the performance a lot more. Chika's solo though I have to say was still pretty fantastic and the highlight of the performance, but the synergy shown by the club was incredible to watch. Left the entire audience and even me stunned hearing those emotions come to life.

But regardless, this episode definitely was moving storyline wise. 5 episodes in and plenty of character development is already happening and it's not stopping here which is good to see. One of the many reasons why I love the manga so much.

That Vice-Principal is so annoying and rude. I hope he gets fired from his position soon in the series.

It was finally the day of their Koto playing performance. I felt so nervous, I have never been THIS nervous before! Now my hands are sweating because of it. I hope the school acknowledges them.

There were these high school boys who looked down on Chika just because of the rumors, they even thought (the Vice-Principal included) that Kudo was not going to be able to play the Koto and laughed. Haha! Kudo got them, Kudo caught everyone at the school by surprise. In just a month, they were able to play the full version of the piece they had just played which is, "Ryuuseigun" or "้พๆ˜Ÿ็พค". I felt so satisfied after it.

Even though Kudo and his friends just started playing on the Koto (though Kudo has experience in playing the Koto before because of his late grandfather) they still nailed it! They were honestly so amazing! There's no way everyone at school won't acknowledge them unless they won't because the Vice-Principal told every student at school not to. But that probably wouldn't happen, it's too unrealistic. Also, their club probably wouldn't be disbanded anyway since because of what the Principal said if ever the Vice-Principal decides to continue to disband the club but which has more power though, isn't it the Principal who has more?

Really nice episode, saying it's the best one so far is nothing surprising given what happened in it.

I liked the more confident Takezou, but the episode started being so much better when Chika's solo started. The feelings were definitely there, especially with that one line from him. It really was a nice backstory and for now he is my most liked character.

I still don't love the sound of the koto, but Chika's solo was very beautiful so it can make nice music.
