   The newest Fire Emblem game coming to the Nintendo 3DS, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (or Fire Emblem Echoes: Another Hero King in Japan) launches on the 20th of April in Japan and 19th May worldwide. A remake and enhanced version of the classic Fire Emblem Gaiden, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a branch prequel to the critically acclaimed Fire Emblem: Awakening. It follows Alm and Celica as they fight a war which has consumed the Rigel Empire and the Kingdom of Zofia on the Continent of Valentia. Unlike most Fire Emblem games, Gaiden was known for its unique gameplay and features. These have been cleverly brought into the Echoes whilst adapting the advanced gameplay seen in Awakening. Some of these features are described in the features section of the video below. | Added official character artwork to the first post. Boey's design has changed drastically. Not sure who the last fellow is. He might be an original character. Perhaps an Avatar/My Unit? Like the Avatar/My Unit in Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~Heroes of Light and Shadow~. Maybe~ Or it could be Camus/Zeke's new design in Echoes. Waiting for more info about that~ |

| Added more character artwork and screenshots. There are lots more too Efi's English name is Faye because Nintendo of America mucked up their localisation of Fates and to avoid character confusion. Way to go.... they should just close down already The artwork which I thought was to be the avatar is actually an original character named Berkut. Updated the op accordingly. No news on a Lunatic+ mode (please make it happen) No weapon triangle. Terrain effects are of strategic importance, but magic will ignore that too at the cost of the caster's hp. | I'm still wondering whether or not I should get this. I love Awakening (which, not including Smash Bros, was my gateway into FE land) and Fates but in all honesty I'm not exactly the most skilled at them, and I do enjoy the whole relationship part of those games too, it adds to their charm, even if they're not loved fully by a lot of the fanbase. This game is apparently quite different to those, but if it still has a great story with fun gameplay, I could live with the differences.But yeah, should I get echoes or not? Decisions decisions. |

| @Memor I know, right? And it's limited so it can't be abused. Best feature in a FE game without a doubt, since that means I don't have to reset as often and would be willing to replay the game more often (and could easily not use it if I want to challenge myself). |

| @Norilla Oh for sure, I have trouble getting through them even on the first playthrough because of this :S Not that I dislike FE games at all, but it's a little off-putting when you make a major mistake and lose characters, and have to redo the whole chapter over again if you want a second shot ^^' I get that permadeath is just part of the core gameplay, but... it gives me an infectious desire to reset ._. |
