Island -i didnt get the story--Spoilers

so i just read Island ...a story about a zombie buddhist monk who aperantly spends hes days killing demons that are going after the main character ...although you would think the story will be about them two...turns out later that its about Unit 731 where Japanese performed experiments on the Korean civilians.....now although it got my blood boiling and it peaked my interest ...i am confused why did they end the story there....i still know nothing about the zombie monk -except that he was hated by budha ...hes a very old zombie ..i still have a couple of q
1) was the main character really raped in the bathroom,or about to be
2) why did the manhwa(i think its manhwa) stop there

0. The story is about them. No more specifically about Miho (heroine). It just that the plot ended on the skull arc leaving us with cliffhangers.
1. About to be raped.
2. Read the author's end note. Can be found among the last pages of the final chapter.
