A Jinchuuriki is a shinobi (or ninja) who has a Bijuu (also known as Tailed Beast) sealed inside of them. Nine Bijuu exist in the Naruto universe, and they're all super-powerful “Chakra Monsters.” They were created by the Sage of Six Paths, the original host of these supernatural creatures who made them with the purpose of bringing peace to the Five Great Shinobi Countries. In Naruto Shippuuden, the Jinchuuriki and the Bijuu ultimately join forces to fight against Madara Uchiha. Starting with Naruto and the Nine Tails, let's begin the Jinchuuriki and Bijuu countdown!
Naruto Uzumaki and Kurama (Nine Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Naruto Uzumaki
Bijuu: Kurama (Nine Tails)
Naruto is the first Jinchuuriki we learn about in the prequel series, Naruto. The Nine Tails, later known as Kurama, is recognized as a demon fox that harbors hatred and anger, which affects Naruto many times in the Naruto Shippuden series. The previous vessels were Kushina Uzumaki, Naruto's mother, and Mito Uzumaki, the First Hokage's wife. Naruto and the Nine Tails didn't originally get along (it was a hate and hate relationship...), but Naruto is eventually able to erase some of the hate and anger that this grumpy Bijuu had held inside for too long. They form a strong bond throughout the series.
Killer Bee and the Gyuuki (Eight Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Killer Bee
Bijuu: Gyuuki (Eight Tails)
Killer Bee is the Jinchuuriki of Kumogakure, with the Eight Tails, an octopus-like Bijuu, sealed inside him. Killer Bee is one of the first Jinchuuriki shown controlling their Bijuu. Even more surprising is the fact that Killer Bee and the Eight Tails actually seem to be good friends. Killer Bee's eccentric personality balances well with the calm and serious nature of the Eight Tails. Killer Bee and the Eight Tails help teach Naruto how to control the chakra of the Nine Tails Bijuu.
Fuu and Choumei (Seven Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Fuu
Bijuu: Choumei (Seven Tails)
Fuu is a female shinobi or kunoichi from Takigakure, and she's the host of the Seven Tails. The Seven Tails or Choumei is a dragonfly-like Bijuu.
Utakata and Saiken (Six Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Utakata
Bijuu: Saiken (Six Tails)
Utakata is a shinobi from Kirigakure, but he became a rogue after Kirigakure became the “Bloody Mist.” He is the host of the Six Tails, a Bijuu with a slug-like form.
Han and Kokuou (Five Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Han
Bijuu: Kokuou (Five Tails)
Han is a shinobi from Iwagakure who became the Jinchuuriki for the Five Tails, Kokuou. The Five Tails Bijuu takes on a large, horse-like form.
Roushi and Son Gokuu (Four Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Roushi
Bijuu: Son Gokuu
Roushi is another shinobi from Iwagakure, and he's the Jinchuuriki with the Four Tails. He fought against the Akatsuki member, Kisame, and was captured. The Four Tails, Son Gokuu, is a gorilla-like Bijuu.
Yagura and Isobu (Three Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Yagura
Bijuu: Isobu (Three Tails)
Yagura is the Fourth Mizukage of Kirigakure as well as the host of the Three Tails, Isobu. After Yagura died, the Three Tails hid in a lake and was captured later by the Akatsuki members. This Bijuu has a unique, turtle-shaped form.
Yugito Nii and Matatabi (Two Tails)
Jinchuuriki: Yugito Nii
Bijuu: Matatabi (Two Tails)
Yugito is a respected kunoichi and Jinchuuriki from Kumogakure. Like Killer Bee, she can control her Bijuu, the Two Tails named Matatabi. Matatabi is a cat-like Bijuu with a fiery appearance. Yugito was captured by the Akatsuki members, Hidan and Kakuzu.
Gaara and Shukaku (One Tail)
Jinchuuriki: Gaara
Bijuu: Shukaku (One Tail)
Gaara is the Fifth Kazekage from Sunagakure, and he was the host of the One Tail, Shukaku. Gaara and Naruto became friends after Gaara realized there was another way to life, instead of the hate-filled one he had lived for so long. Gaara was the first Jinchuuriki to be captured by Akatsuki; his Bijuu was extracted afterwards. The One Tail has the appearance of a tanuki (racoon-dog), and he and the Nine Tails are known to have a rather complicated relationship where they always argue and compete with one another, which is the opposite of Gaara's friendly relationship with Naruto.
