So we've had our eyes on Spring 2017 for a while now, as it was reported back in June when the second season of Attack on Titan would make its premier. But as Animenewsnetwork reports, we've finally gotten confirmation of a specific month: April!
Masashi Koizuka, former Assistant Director of the first season steps in as the Director this time around. A relative newcomer, Koizuka has previously only acted as Assistant Director for Owari no Seraph, Wit Studio's highly anticipated but ultimately disappointing follow up to Attack on Titan. For what is probably the most highly anticipated anime event of the last decade and the most exhilarating critically acclaimed commercial juggernaut in recent memory, it's certainly an interesting decision hiring such an inexperienced director to take the reins on this project.
While fans waited patiently for news of a second season, we were treated to 2 fairly bad Attack on Titan movies that no one had asked for, a cute but insubstantial parody series, and a fairly good 2 episode OVA of Levi's origin story - the undisputed breakout star of the original series.
Attack on Titan Season 2 Is Confirmed For April
It's time to forget that the live-action movies ever happened! Season 2 is coming in April!
