One of the world’s best loved anime series STEINS;GATE has finally got a sequel – and you can play it right now on PS4 and Vita! Easily one of the most critically-acclaimed stories in recent years, STEINS;GATE follows a rag-tag bunch of misfits, hackers and scientists as they try to put right their mistakes after one of their inventions gives them the power to send text messages back into the past.

You might want to look away now if you don’t want any spoilers from the original series!

With the true ending of STEINS;GATE (and the ending of the anime itself) wrapping up on a high, with both Mayuri and Makise Kurisu saved, STEINS;GATE 0 takes a much darker turn – instead exploring what happens in the Beta World Line.

What happened if Okabe Rintaro could not save the one he loved? What happens if he failed in his quest?
So begins STEINS;GATE 0. Okabe is understandably depressed. He’s given up on time travel, he doesn’t really hang out with his friends anymore. All he cares about is study and continuing the work of his lost love.
More to the point, and Suzuha’s annoyance, he’s resigned himself to the beta worldine where World War III is an inevitability. Nothing is seems, will pick Okabe up, and set him on a new path.

But then everything changes. A party from Kurisu’s old university arrives in Japan to lecture on some new technology – an Artificial Intelligence system called ‘Amadeus’. On meeting Kurisu’s old colleagues, Okabe discovers something remarkable – Amadeus is an AI version of Kurisu herself!
But this is no happy reunion. Her thoughts and memories may be stored in a computer – but this is a version of Kurisu who never met Okabe. She has no memory of him, and so he must begin their relationship anew.

Just to make matters worse, it seems there are dark forces who will do anything they can to get their hands on the ‘Amadeus Kurisu’ technology. So once again, Okabe finds he must protect her with his life, because if he fails this time, it is humanity itself that could be destroyed!

Featuring a brand new cast of character as well as old favourites from the previous STEINS;GATE, STEINS;GATE 0 does an amazing job of continuing the story with the same incredible level of quality and characterisation from before – and is absolutely a must-have for fans of the series.

STEINS;GATE 0 is easily one of the finest visual novels to have been released in recent years and is currently available to buy on PS4 or PS Vita.

Released and available worldwide digitally on PlayStation Network, STEINS;GATE 0 is also available physically exclusive to Amazon in the US and is also available worldwide as a special edition from Rice Digital – complete with Fairy Upa!. It is also available physically in-store across the UK and Europe.
