That's great to hear! I'm glad you liked one of my recommendations. Do you plan on watching season 2? It's more of the same good stuff but the animation is much better.

I would argue that Miyuki gets almost as much exposition as Kindaichi, also getting somewhat desensitised.
Since many cases are basically "closed island" type of mysteries, it would make sense that many people would kick into survival mode to find out the culprit rather than just to keep freaking out. I guess that personally I like that much more than the usuall horror movie case where most people just keep freaking out instead of thinking. I'll admit that it can get repetitive though, and a breakdown once in a while is a change of peace. I don't feel like there was supposed to be an overarching plot in the first place, to me Kindaichi feels more like the episodical western detective shows that run on tv when I was a kid rather than something like the BBC Sherlock or Detective Conan. I appreciate the long response though, and I would recommend incorporating it into the review itself, as the short description of the issue looks jarring - so much that it made me response in the first place. |

Well it's been a while since I've seen the start of the series, but I feel like it's strongly implied that it's not Kindaichi's first rodeo - the first case we see as an audience isn't the first case Kindaichi solved.
Police officers also don't freak up with every case, and the main cast has seen more murders that the average officer. Human psyche really gets used to scenes like that quite fast, no need for years in morgue. |

"I find it very unrealistic how the two main characters who are 17 (but look like 14) are so calm and composed when they encounter death so often and seeing dead people literally every other day."
Honestly, that sentence kinda explains itself - it's not "when", it's "because". |

it's so slow the fans have to make up theories to stay interested with supposed headcanons

Oh also its' cool to see you added "The Third: The Girl with the blue eye"
That was the first anime I ever saw and not many people have seen it. |

That's fair, music isn't for everyone. I'm just slightly biased being a musician.
Personally, I like the first few episodes of 1999 better because they give you an actual interaction with kite which helps later with the chimera ant arc. Also I like york new arc better in 1999 particularly because the atmosphere and directing were much better when it comes to portraying a serious atmosphere. Heavens Arena honeslty I like both the same, but honest to god the elevator lady from 1999 is one of the most underrated characters in the show. But Honestly I don't mind the hunter exam arc from 2011, and when it comes to Greed Island I also prefer 2011 (beyond the training segments being slightly rushed, I would have preferred just a slightly longer cutscene). But it's surprising to hear you like Greed Island the most because most people tend to dislike Greed Island the most. Not saying that's not ok or anything just I've not heard anyone say they liked Greed Island as a fav arc before is all. Personally I felt like the 1999 depiction of Greed Island dragged a bit too long, but that's just me. Personally I really didn't mind the length of the chimera ant arc though. There are a few sections where I think they could have cut at most 2 or 3 episodes but beyond that I thought the pacing was very good. In particular because it added gravity to the overall story which I don't think would be felt if it was just rushed through in 13 or even 26 episodes. It's not a problem to focus on small details and slow down the pacing if it's done right. And I think in 2011 it was. There's a difference between telling a story with a myriad of details like in 2011, and something like the one piece anime where only around 10 minutes of each episode is new content (including flashbacks). |

@saekoa
My opinion on Sword Art Online has changed over the years. I don't think it's good, it's highly overrated and the story is driven solely by plot armor. I have watched only two seasons and haven't watched anything beyond that, because it feels like the author is already recycling his own creation and milking it - it no longer has a point or goal, it's like Boruto - it only exists to keep making money. My Hero Academia is still good, it hasn't gotten bad and it has the potential to end soon, which is better than how One Piece, Naruto and Bleach went - One Piece never ends, but each arc after the time skip is worse and more boring than the previous, Bleach didn't even finish because of how boring it was and Naruto started with ninjas and ended with aliens. Neither is a good way to go. Ascendance of a Bookworm is just stupid and also covered in a lot of plot armor, the main character is annoying and there are a lot of inconsistencies with the behavior of the characters, especially the protagonist and how she acts. It's just a very contrived and boring story that goes nowhere. |

Your taste is... Interesting lol. Bashes Bookworm. Rates some masterpieces low and SAO/MHA high.

@GreyStoneFlinger,
of course I would, it's stupid, boring, the story is not even there and the comedy element is funny if you're sharing one brain cell with your whole family. |

One hole in your great review on "The ascendance of a bookworm" is when you stated "Even in the first episode when the protagonist gets the memories of the body it now inhabits, she doesn't get all of them and starts looking through the house for books as if she doesn't already have the memory of the body that there are no books there."
If I were in her position, and I loved books that much too, I'd sure as hell search every corner of the house I'm in to look for books, even if i knew they weren't there. With that being said the prospect of a book she didn't know about existing in the house was pretty high considering the fact she was always bedridden before MC took over the original Myne's body. Alas, there wasn't a book, but I just thought I should point that out. You also kind of contradicted yourself when you stated "she doesn't get all of them." so that makes the probability of a book being in the house even greater. Other than that great review and you make some good points! |

Well i cant disagree with it.
I'm not a fan of either of these shows, but I was a fan of Naruto as a kid. In the end, however, both developed negatively. Attack on Titan was better when it was Mysterious. Season 4 has been disappointing, even if the approach wasn't bad. |
