It's been said, but it's a classic French Novel, not English.

Substance of review aside - Count of Monte Christo is a French novel, for the sake of everything worth saving in this world (e.g. literature and educational system).
But yes, final episodes was bad, they destroyed this anime for me. |

Just read your review on Gankutsuou. I agree with most of what you said but I rather liked the ending myself.
Also, you dropped Gurren Lagann at episode 2 but if you liked Code Geass you should give it another go, the show actually does become good after episode 7 believe it or not, its like a totally different show from that point. |

Nice review of Gankutsuou, especially for someone only 18. Are you a writer perhaps? I gave the story an 8 mainly for the same reasons you list. I find the art amazing and the story is really good thru episode 22. I found the last episode to be OK, but still lacked the feel of the earlier part of the story. Episode 23 was a total bust for me, too. I have considered getting a 720p copy, but haven't done so yet. My collection is slowly moving into HD when and where possible. Of course, some titles will never be in HD and probably don't need to be.
