New one shot of the week; the very short "Cops and Robbers" by Hiroaki Samura, the genius behind "Blade of the Immortal" and several other fantastic manga, including "Ohikkoshi", "Bradherley's Coach", and previous one shot of the week "Emerald". The ending to this one was very telegraphed and predictable, but the core concept was unique and interesting, and as with anything by Samura, the execution was very high, from the gorgeous art to the plot progression and delivery of the punchline. Check it out. |

I noticed he don't have Miyama Uguisu Yashika Jiken in club relations, it's a pilot for Blue Exorcist manga, quite nice. |

Awesome! We got way more feedback for that one-shot than we have in a long time. I'll try to be more active and revive the club, and you folks feel free to recommend me quality manga! Regarding the art in the current one-shot, the designs themselves were certainly good, but there is an art and a science to drawing action/battle scenes, and the mangaka was poor at that part. |

I found the manga very good, although I hoped for more sad conclusion, like in all antic dramas with tragic dillemas. Astonishing desighns, but would like to see more color pages. |

Just read it and it was very good. Especially the way the wyvern was drawn was amazing, which is even better due to dragons more often than not looking rather weird.The story itself has room for improvement, though and especially the emperor is too plain. |

Actually, my former download link only contained part 1. It has since been fixed. As for the manga...painfully predictable for the first three quarters, and the last fourth is just plain silly. Either write an interesting story, or be able to draw cool battles. The mangaka could do neither. I'll give it a generous 4. |

Thanks to a wonderfully helpfully suggestion by kuglefang, we finally have a new one-shot after a couple of months! I haven't read it yet, but the art looks cool and doesn't feature lolis with giant saucer eyes and no noses, so I'm hopeful! Check it out everyone; I included a link to the scanlators above who brought us this work. |
