It's broken, and half went from bbcode to html. Probably MAL issiue.

horcrvx | Dec 11, 2011 11:46 PM
Is it just me or has something happened with the html stuff in the description?

All added.

Amusingly enough, there were two one-shots named "Black Coffee", both of which are now in the collection.

Black Coffee (Emiko Nakano) and Flower Crown are two one shots not listed here. I liked Black Coffee but Flower Crown wasn't all that special.

Because finding a new one-shot that is good every single week, with a solid collection of 89 already featured is tough? If you have a recommendation, post it, and I will take a look.

I'll probably post something within the next couple of days though, regardless.

Y NO NEW ONE SHOT?!

YoungVagabond | Aug 15, 2011 12:17 PM
New one-shot of the week, thanks to an excellent recommendation by member zanac at the beginning of July.

It's a one-shot by the talented and criminally overlooked manga author Tetsuya Toyoda about a low-key, but very interesting private detective search for an old man named "Mr. Bojangles". (A reference to a Sammie Davis Jr. song about a legendary black tap dancer of the 1930s)

There's a tremendous sense of realism in both the relaxed demeanor of the events as well as the character interactions.

It's one of the better one-shots I have read, in fact; I gave it a rare 7/10.

As for "Stray Dog", I'll certainly check it out; maybe we'll feature it as next week's one-shot.

New one-shot of the week, and for the second time in our last three entries, it's by the amazing Hiroaki Samura, author of "Blade of the Immortal", "Ohikkoshi", "Bradherley's Coach", the Western one-shot "Emerald", and other outstanding works.

This one is about a 40 year-old, pathetic manga/anime nerd, so it should be relatable for a good portion of our audience.

He has three other one-shots I have noticed have been put out, but I will try to pick someone else next week, much as I love him.

In the meantime, check out this ribald fantasy humor work!

Unreal Sundown and Akai Michi are two more one shots I read just recently. They're alright.

Stray Dog is an interesting one shot I just read. Check it out it was quite enjoyable.

I have provided the MangaTraders link above; just click on it, and you will see the one-shit.

You may have to sign up to see it, but it literally takes a few minutes.

New one-shot of the week; "Zoo Factory", about a male party host who gets a tattoo that makes women fall madly in lust with him.

It's decent and has a terrific scene where he attains the "love" of his childhood friend, although it was rather predictable, and the ending, while it was a solid punchline, could have been executed better and more believably. (Would the protagonist really go that far?!)

Anyways, check it out.

We will use "Mr. Bojangles" in an upcoming "Manga of the Week" spot; it's written by an author I respect, and looks like a quality seinen.

Thanks zanac.
