Uhhh... I didn't know there's Genshiken 2 manga.. ~_~

Danshikun | Aug 18, 2011 5:45 PM
I totally loooove Genshiken! My favourite anime and manga! Both are great, even if I wasn't really into Ogiue's yaoi stories xD
I actually think that I identified myself with Sasahara :p
The problem with Genshiken : TOO SHORT!

Has anyone heard about a possible 3rd season?

Veratine25 | Jun 19, 2011 12:49 PM
I would love to get my hands on a poster of the whole crew together.

maxlefou | Mar 10, 2011 12:20 AM
@Vegreaper you mean a 3rd season ?

Vegreaper | Feb 28, 2011 2:25 AM
I really hope there'll be a new anime season. The last one ended just before the juicy bits

Now if only we could get an anime sequel...

The moment I saw Sue as a member of Genshiken, I wanted that bonus chapter to be a full-blown sequel... and now it's really here. Miracles do happen after all.

I created a "Save Media Blasters" club--the company that distributes Genshiken and Kujiun--if anyone's interested. It's *technically* a good cause.

well.. i don't think she changed that much. her relationship with tanaka became much closer and i don't think of it like of destroying ohno's personality. it was a step she made on her own. progress.. sort of

_Shidosama | Jul 23, 2009 5:57 PM
Does anyone else think that they completely ruined Ohno's character? In S1 and the OVA she was a sweet naive otaku girl then in S2 she turned into a completely different character =/

It's like since she started dating Tanaka she came out of her shell *a bit too much* I preferred her when she was a socially inept Otaku.

So I just looked at the tentative schedule of events for Otakon next week and I noticed someone else already has a Genshiken panel established.

Uchiyamada | Jun 22, 2009 2:55 PM
Omg - was so disappointed by the 'changes' in style of animation at the start of the second series. I see that there was a new director / studio.

I thought that the whole slow pace of the first series (befitting of Otaku life) was lost. That the same cast of voice actors wasn't maintained is also a bit of a bummer (I'm sure Saki-san is new voice - haven't checked though).

Not a total disappointment though - it has grown on me.

So last week I got my rejection email for the Genshiken panel. Oh well. Better luck next year I guess.

True true.

EtherStrikes | Feb 26, 2009 5:33 AM
The thing is though that there are different levels of being an otaku, ranging from a Hikkikomori to someone like the the "normal" characters in Genshiken. It's really hard to make a comparison unless I'm comparing just myself and a couple of my friends, and who is to say that we are "normal" and someone like the Train Man isn't?

kazerfozl | Feb 26, 2009 12:01 AM
A cool thing to do would be comparing the cast of Genshiken to the lives of actual otaku. Since in my opinion it seems like the chrarcters each personified a specific characteristic of a person who likes anime/manga. So would the characters really be otaku since they seem like normal people compared to characters in lets say the Trainman movie who seemed a lot more like otaku.

EtherStrikes | Feb 25, 2009 7:19 AM
Don't have a solid plan yet. Probably start out with the basics of what Genshiken is for people that don't know. Then move into how the characters develop throughout the story and the shifts in personality backed up by either DVD clips or scanned scenes from the manga.

I'm not 100% positive about what to do since this would be my first time hosting a panel so any thoughts/comments would help.
