I checked article histories and here’s the code for the MAL banner on Fandom:

Maybe the Fandom banner will appear on an anime page in MAL after someone adds a MAL banner on an anime Wiki in Fandom? I wonder how that really works…

Out of all the Fandom Wikis affiliated with MAL, it seems like Fandom user Unok is the only one adding those tags; I’ve checked Wiki article histories and the tags were added around November 2021.
I made this club to make a list of MAL pages with Fandom banner links as I could’t find any other list or any related info about this MALxFandom project around the web. I’m not sure who even spearheaded the project. And there’s only one thread I could find here in MAL. I also couldn’t find any discussions about this on Reddit or elsewhere.

Note: Not all anime with Wikis have the Fandom banner. There are only a few MAL manga pages that have the banner.
Update: We can now add/submit external links to sidebars of anime and manga pages. Just click the 'Edit' button and choose 'External Links'. There's still no option for Fandom Wiki, though. But you can click 'Add Site' and select 'Other' for that.

I just noticed that Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon's anime page has a huge banner which redirects to its official English site. Its sidebar also has a small banner. I wonder if it's just because of a partnership with MAL since the official site has the blue MAL Add to List banner. AniList has banners on their anime and manga pages. I also wonder if MAL will be doing the same in the future... Maybe just for some anime they partner with since adding banners to every anime and manga page could add additional load to the servers. But I'd rather see such banners than those pesky video ads.
I'm still curious on how they add Fandom banners on the sidebars of anime and manga pages.
