Shoujo Wonderland-少女アニメと漫画大好き

Information
少女アニメと漫画大好き-Shoujo Anime to Manga Daisuki Shoujo manga and anime is generally intended for female audiences from ages 10-18, but females of all ages (and some males) can read, watch and enjoy it. Shoujo titles usually contains female protagonists, and romantic themes, but it can also have various themes like sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural and along others as well. Unfortunately, a lot of titles, like the Seinen Ah! My Goddess and Chobits and the Shounen Love Hina, are mistakenly labeled as Shoujo manga/anime because of the similarities of the storylines associated with the demographic. However, while Shoujo has idealistic romantic stories, Seinen and Josei focuses on a more realistic approach in romance/life. This is for all the fans of Shoujo anime and manga, from classics like Ribon no Kishi, Rose of Versailles, Candy Candy and Sailor Moon to modern-day favorites like Fruits Basket, Full Moon, Ouran High School Host Club, Lovely Complex, Vampire Knight and Skip Beat and much, much more. We got over 150 300 (!) titles in the manga relations list alone. Some awesome links! Emily's Random Shoujo Manga Blog Matt Thorn's guide to Shoujo manga/New Article! Wikipedia's article on Shoujo This club has reached over 1300 members!!! Yo! I've only seen a few shoujo, but the one I've watched are among my favorite anime! I'm looking forward to getting into more ^_^

Oh I wasn't criticizing Fushigi Yugi, I enjoyed that series alot...until it got to the final few episodes, but the reason I brought up the differences of heroines is because incase mengweli was looking for a series with a character with a similar personality to Yona, which Miaka isn't. Fushigi Yuugi is similar to the story of Yona, but different in great ways too. I agree :)

Ha Miaka being typical for the decade, I agree with you on that too, but there was some different heroines in that decade too, just hard to find. Basara is a good example, but sadly the anime for it was so short compared to the manga. :( It makes sense that hardly any country outside Japan were interested in dubbing it.

@RICEA42991 thank you! Yeah, I'd say they're similar anime but the difference in decades shows. Miaka was the typical shoujo heroine of those times - clumsy, likes to eat, mostly meat, has a big heart and learns to be brave to protect the ones she loves; while Yona has a totally different and much more extreme experience... transforms into a new person which turns out to be a great brave fighter in order to protect the ones she loves. I'd say they're both amazing anime in different ways :)

Good suggestion Mameido, but isn't Miaka is kind of different in personality to Yona in my opinion. Yona is alot tougher for obvious reasons. The poor princess has been through alot.
