Danebenreden

Introduction: Some say MAL is a barren wasteland infested with trolls, shitposters and general nastiness. Others say it is a dystopia where moderators abuse their iron fists and silence the fun. We created Danebenreden to envision the third alternative to this dilemmatic absurdity. Between a totalitarian rule and a culture of irrelevance lies the path of sanity. In Danebenreden, members are protected from the hostility of those who don’t understand the responsibility of expression. Power is not used to silence, but to guide. Entertainment does not come at one side’s detriment, but mutual and in good taste. The desire to connect to people is not met with malice, but acceptance and empathy. Knowledge is not used to exploit and belittle others, but to enrich our experiences in life. To this end, Danebenreden represents an alternative where all the wrongs become rights. Not everyone will wish for what we have envisioned, some will enjoy things as they currently are. But for those who think MAL leaves a lot to be desired or sees an even greater potential still, we welcome you with open arms. Club visions:

• Reinforce meaningful and respectful communication between members
• Build lasting friendships with other members of similar values and cognitive level
• To house complex and personal discussions without exposure to ignorance and malice
• To exchange knowledge on a level that is mutually valuable

What happens when you bring the most cognitively competent people in MAL together? Dunno, that’s what we’re going to find out. Non-member policy: Non-members may create threads and post in the club discussion boards. You are welcomed to make constructive threads and engage in discussions here. Please be mindful of club atmosphere and be considerate of others before posting. Shitposting will not be tolerated. Club recruitment:

• Active forum members who show good character and reasoning abilities are frequently scouted by the admins and officers.
• High quality users can be referred by club members. Users will unconditionally be offered an invitation if three existing members vouch.
• A simple ~200 word self-introduction can be mailed to an admin for assessment. Entry through this pathway is guaranteed as long as the writing is sincere, reasonable and comprehensible.
