A fanclub dedicated to the anime, Xam'd: Lost Memories

Alternative Titles: Bounen no Xamdou

Sentan Island is a small island surrounded by the Yuden Sea. It exists in a state of dreamlike tranquility, cut off from the war between the Northern Government and the Southern Continent Free Zone. Our hero, Akiyuki Takehara, lives on Sentain Island along with his mother Fusa. He is currently separated from his father, the town doctor Ryuzo, but the bond between father and son remains. One day, after taking Ryuzo the lunch that Fusa has made for him as usual, Akiyuki arrives at school, where he is caught up in an explosion along with his friends, Haru and Furuichi. The explosion produces a mysterious light, which enters Akiyuki's arm, causing him excruciating pain. He's given no time to understand it, however, as the white-haired girl who rode on the bus with him guides him to a power unlike anything he's ever known.

Hi! I watched Xam'd abotu a year back and a stumbled upon this club for it. =3 Xam'd was a very welldone Studio BONES anime, with its anime almost serving as a tribute to Eureka seveN. Awesome plot, great animation, great soundtrack etc.
Truly one of my favorite anime. C:

I'm going to re-post a comment that I made on
(page 218):

I really loved Xam'd. A lot .. for reasons that surpass the limits of this comment box.

There are always going to be haters, that's inevitable. Not everyone can agree on a single thing.

However, after browsing through these comments, I've seen a lot of "I don't understand this series at all!" and then continue on to say that the series is bad. Lack of understandability is a shortcoming based on your own perception. Just because you don't understand it, I don't think you can judge the series like that, or at all, for that matter.

Back to the positives: If you enjoy fluid animation and well-plotted character development, then you should definitely give this series a shot. As someone mentioned earlier, it does have a lot of Eureka Seven elements to it. In some cases, I think it actually pays tribute to it. If you're looking for certain romantic aspects, there are SOME in this series, but not a whole lot and most are subtle. There is enough, though, that it complements the series very well, in my opinion.

To link the last two paragraphs: The story is well-manipulated and not linear. Perhaps this is the reason why many people found it confusing. There are no clean-cut "good" or "bad" sides. Every faction and every character in this series have their own reasons for doing what they do and how they interact with each other. It's not always going to be easy to follow, but try to see it from their point of view, gauging from what you have learned thus far in the series. I believe that if you, as a viewer, can overcome these obstacles, you will appreciate more what this series really has to offer.

I hope that my insight shed a little light on the matter and that you enjoy Xam'd as much as I did, if not more.
