@Ohayotaku I enjoy darker themed anime like you mentioned too, but like you said sometimes you just need those animes that make you smile and feel a little bit better about life lol.

The anime you linked looks super cute and I can definitely see the similarities! It looks quite similar to matoba's artstyle, actually.

That's a shame there won't be anymore of this story, though. May the author rest in peace.

I get where you’re coming from. I appreciate a number of heavier/darker anime like Dororo, Vinland Saga & Dededede. But I also need lighter series that primarily just make you smile & destress (Yuru Camp, Masterful Cat, Ramen Akaneko, etc). There was a series that just finished airing (The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies) which felt kinda similar to Beelzebub

Sadly there isn’t much of it because the mangaka passed away when she was only 31.

I see several ppl complain that the anime and storyline is too simple and not entertaining enough and I can understand ppl having their own tastes and preferances, but in the author's notes at the end of the first volume, she wrote: "It may sound weird coming from the author, but I want this to be a lazy (in a good way) and fun (?) comic. Appreciate it the way you'd enjoy a snack!"

So even in the author's notes, she admits the story isn't something that will be complicated and would be simple. It's the type of story you would read or watch to relax while you enjoy your favourite little snack maybe after a long day...

But again, every is entitled to their own opinions and preferances. But do they really sometimes need to be so hard on the story, though? (;-;) It isn't meant to be taken so seriously--

Anyway, I think the manga artstyle is absolutely gorgeous and you should try to pick up the manga if you can! If not, then just give a look at the manga artstyle through Google lol. matoba does such a good job at making things look fluffy and clean. I'm trying to get my hands on more of the volumes physically, but it can be quite a pain when the postal system in your area is broken lol. </3

I haven’t read the Miss Beelzebub manga, but the anime is definitely under-appreciated.
