Lum's race wears striped garnments as a reference to oni (the japanese ogres upon which her people are based). Oni are usually characterized by 1 or 2 horns, sharp fangs, and a tiger striped loincloths. Lum has all these (well, she traded in the loincloth for a bikini and matching gogo boots). |

Loved the series.
Beautiful Dreamer was my favorite movie by far as well. Not saying the others were bad. |
