A first year student at Seiwa Academy. She seems to have no sense of direction as she got lost during the entrance ceremony.
Because she got a perfect score on a test, she was asked to teach Shima and Ryou, whom she quickly forms a good and awkward relationship respectively.
She gets confessed to by Ryou after the fight with a gang of high schoolers in Shibuya. A she finds Ryou's family picture with his mother's face scribbled out and tells her his story. She doesn't give a reply right away.
A little while after the confession, Ryou asks Sumika out to a festival in the next town and that he wants to hear her answer to his confession there. When she arrives there she trips but someone pulls her up. And that someone is Shima. He says goodbye to her and leaves. She then quickly runs to where Ryou is and while they are walking together she thinks of Shima and comes to a stop and starts to tear. She just realized her true feelings and those feelings were for Shima. She thanks Ryou and then runs to catch up to Shima and tells him that she likes him. He hugs her tightly and says that he likes her too. They share a kiss and it ends with them planning on where they would go on their date.
