MaleenPrincess Maleen has been locked up in a tower prison, along with her servant Inge, for 7 years. When Ludwig frees her by mistake, Maleen discovers that her kingdom had been involved in a war 7 years prior, and all that was left of the castle were the tower and some ruins.She claims that Ludwig was engaged to her and gave her his mother's locket before the war started, but her father disapproved of their love and had her locked up in the hopes of forgetting Ludwig. However, Ludwig remembers neither making such a promise, nor Maleen herself.
