After the crash, Kunikida attempts to cheer up her crush, Futami, by asking him out. When she is refused, she asked Futami why his current girlfriend isn't there to comfort him, and attempts to toss a keepsake Futami has off the school roof. While Futami catches the keepsake, Kunikida accidentally bumps Futami, knocking him to his death.
Kunikida later fakes a suicide note to try and cover her crime.
