He entered the game in order to find his younger twin sister Sakura after she disappeared under similar circumstances.
He received his scar when his twin sister, Sakura, attempted to cut his hair but the former resisted; causing Sakura to injure the side of his mouth instead.
His sister then went missing after playing Naka no Hito Genome two years ago. For two years he found no clue about his sister's whereabouts, even both the police and his parents had already given up on looking, so he clung to his only ray of hope by playing the same in order to purposely let them kidnap him so that he could search for his twin sister.
