She is first seen after the Hedgehogs' concert playing one of their songs on the street. We later find out that she is in a band and is going to play at the Denkou Rebellion as well.
It is later revealed that Aoi's father was the one who drove the truck that killed Fuuka Akitsuki. She blamed herself for Fuuka's death, because she told her dad to go to work despite not feeling well. Furthermore, Aoi learned that Fuuka had a boyfriend, so this made Aoi believe that she doesn't deserve to be loved or forgiven.
Later after everyone learned of Aoi's connection to Fuuka, Yuu went to her hometown to convince her to join Fallen Moon. In the process, Aoi almost got hit by a truck just like Fuuka, but this time Yuu saved her from death and told her that he needs her. Afterwards, the other band members said that if Aoi joins the Fallen Moon, then the Fallen Moon will have to be disbanded, because Fallen Moon is their band with only the four of them. Thus, they formed a new band with Aoi named Blue Wells.
She begins dating Yuu after he makes her a song conveying his feelings.
