So I had an interesting experience tonight. A friend of mine's neighbor works at a nearby college, doing I don't know what, but it apparently had something to do with languages. So this person contacts my friend, says that a few Japanese exchange students will be coming and would like to meet some American teens (or something like that). So my friend calls up every member of the school's j-pop club, trying to get people to meet the exchange students. Turns out that over half the members were busy, so I was called in (I work as the group taxi. Have car, will give ride....) to shuttle everyone over, and to meet the exchange students.

So it's 5:15, my friend calls me and whispers something unintelligable into the phone, and then says I'm not supposed to call her. Umm, ok, sure. Ten minutes later she calls back, and says I can call her again, cuz now it's safe. I was weirded out, but went to pick her up nonetheless. So I get there, and she and a guy friend of mine are waiting outside. They rush to my car, and proceede to tell me that the reason I couldn't call was because they locked themselves in a bathroom and didn't want her dad to hear (no boys allowed).  WOW. But it turns out it was not what I thought it was. they were just hiding cuz her dad is a freak who would have killed my poor friend for having a guy over without permission (even if the guy is gay....)

SO anyhoo.....back on track. We drive over to the restaurant, and it's in a crowded neighborhood so I have to park about 5 blocks away, and even though it's a friday, I had to feed the meter <.< Which kinda sucks. But anyways, so we get to the restaurant, and the first thing we see is a VERY large group of Japanese college students, hanging out in the back of the restaurant. Ok, first, we thought it would be like five or six people, tops. And second, the only one of us who speaks any Japanese is running late, and I'm flipping out (I don't do so well meeting new people). We spend a very nervous five minutes trying to get in touch with our friend who knows Japanese, while at the same time talking to the teacher, who informed us that we had to split up and sit at different tables. >.< Thank god our friend and her brother showed up in time, cuz I don't think I could have handled sitting at a table full of strangers by myself...lol

After that, it was really fun. The exchange students were really nice, and a few spoke really good english, though I still couldn't understand cuz I'm bad with accents >.< We talked about music, anime (they were like, wow, these people watch too much anime) games, food (one of them had a birthday, so we ate cake, but it was WAAY too sweet) and somehow or other we ended up playing hand games and sharades....which was awesome. lol.  It was really sad to leave, cuz they go back to Japan on wednesday, and we won't be able to see them again =( But they gave us presents, which was awesome! (and candy!! which was absolutely delicious! For some reason they seemed surprised that I liked it o.o) and we all exchanged email and took lots of pictures (which my friend somehow deleted off my camera ;_;)

So it was all super fun, until I got back to my car and found a parking ticket, when I had over-paid the meter >.<

Good things just don't last.........=P

So I'm bored......I don't want to do my homework, so I'm gonna try out this blog thingy =P

This weekend is the Japanese Festival at the botanical gardens, so I'm really excited to be going all three days, eating tons of Japanese food and chilling with my friends ^_^ It's basically the closest thing I'll ever get to a con (cuz people actually cosplay, though I don't know why....) so I hope to enjoy it.

Other than that, school sucks. I just turned in my second essay in just as many weeks, and I'm looking forward to my first real "tests" of the year next week >.< My life is so boring.......lol. Let's see, what have I done that's interesting.......well, I was recently made vice-president of the jpop club at my school (it's code for "jpop bitch" cuz all I do is provide movies and rides <.< that seems to be my destined role in life. over the summer I was the windsurfing bitch. lol) and I'm in charge of this big charity thing that has something to do with teen driving safety, and possibly me meeting Story of the Year (yay!).

Anime-wise, I'm getting close to the 3/4 point of Kiba, which is good (it takes me forever to finish stuff >.<) and hopefully I'll be able to start some new series this weekend, or maybe finish something I've already started.

So yea, I don't really know why anyone would want to read my blog, but whatever =P Hooray for labor day weekend, and um.......yea ^_^
