Anime Relations: Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei

Everything that made a strong impression on me gets a rating. Some anime I barely remember and thus they don't get a rating. Well... that's kind of the most. I actually had a 10 - 1 system (very binary, I know), but the things I like I remember more than the things I dislike, so the 10s spread out to 8s etc. I thought of spreading the list of things I hate (1 - 3) but I couldn't bother. It's easier to hit the 1/10 rather than think about tiers of hatred.

"Does that mean everything between 2-7 is the same to you?"

Yes, in that they're generally unmemorable to me. The system has its holes but it gives me peace of mind. Also, I don't have to constantly compare the value of two shows this way, which saves me a headache.

If there is an anime that is not rated that you'd like to know my thoughts of, just send me a comment. If I've seen them recently, I usually have a thing or two to say about it.

A breakdown of my anime rating system

1/10: Garbage tier. I dislike the anime in there. In more specific terms, this means that:

• the anime is focusing on something I don't like to see in mediums in general (e.g not-written characters the likes of Tatsuya Shiba in Mahouka, or "emotional manipulation" the likes of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)
  
• or endorses something I generally don't agree with (e.g romanticising unbalanced power dynamics in Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji or underage sex in Kuzu no Honkai)
  
• or is simply unwatchable due to too many plot holes (e.g Guilty Crown or Hamatora)
  

Does this mean that I think they are irredeemable? In most cases, I do, however I can see the merit in some (e.g, I liked the voice acting in Hamatora, and I also liked Charlotte from Infinite Stratos even though I hate both of the anime mentioned)

8/10: Very Good. Anime that did not impact me or my life in some form, but I think are very good. Alternatively: Previous 9/10s or 10/10s in my life that do not impact me as much as they used to.

9/10: Amazing. Now we're entering favorites territory, i.e: second tier favorites. These anime impacted me in some form or have a creative vision so good that I feel inspired by them. Alternatively: previous 10/10s that aren't my all time favorites anymore.

10/10s: Masterpiece. All-time favorite series. Impacted my life in a positive way with a level of directing, writing, and composing that I would like to achieve someday. This list correlates to the "favorite anime" section in my MAL profile.

4/10: Below Average... I probably enjoyed those manga at some point and can see their merits in some arcs, but then something happened that made me really "meh" as I progressed. This rating I only use for manga.
