Common Complaints About Clannad and Why They Don't Make Sense to Me
Anime Relations: Clannad, Clannad: After Story
I've been surfing the web and I've noticed that there are a lot of really odd complaints about this series and it kind of irritates me how people are probably getting put off of the series because of it. I just thought I'd speak my mind by going over some of the most common complaints I see and why they don't seem all that valid to me. Now, at the end of the day, everyone is free to have their own opinions, and I believe this more than most people I meet. I just get really sick of the sheer amount of people that bash Clannad for these stupid reasons.
Also, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING BELOW. WE'RE TALKING THE MOST TOP-TIER SPOILERS POSSIBLE SO BEWARE! The spoilers won't necessarily be hidden by spoiler buttons also. Those are just there to separate complaints from answers and keep things tidy.
The ending is stupid. It made no sense and felt like a total cop-out.
It makes no sense to bring Ushio back right after she died. It made the scene lose all emotional impact.
I felt like the best parts of the series were wasted because of the ending.
The first eight episodes of After Story were a complete waste of time.
The whole series is just so slow-paced.
Alright, looks like I'm done. Remember, if you don't like Clannad, that's fine. If it was for any of the above reasons, I hope I was able to explain things a little bit better so maybe you'll give the show another shot. Just please don't start arguments in the comments. You're really not going to change anyone's mind by ripping on them and swearing your head off.
