Anime Relations: Kurozuka
so i just got around to finishing this anime and to be honest, i really don't how to feel about the plot. the show definitely achieved what it set out to do. it had an interesting premise which was capitalized on to craft a palpably dark atmosphere. but, while it is something you don't come across everyday, the plot is a bit too bland and devoid of emotion for my liking. now i understand that it is completely intentional (as it should be in something as dystopian as this), but the story fails to elicit the sense of gloom that a tale like SHOULD produce.
if they had spent time fleshing out the supporting cast, i would've felt something when they were killed off. then again, maybe you are not supposed to have an emotional response to their deaths. you are experiencing events from the perspective of the protagonist after all. regardless, i think this show would've benefited from ten or so more episodes because the 'tragic' story it was trying to tell didn't quite hit home and im inclined to blame it on the lack of character development.
