Anime Relations: Shingeki no Kyojin
Okay, so Attack on Titan... Do I even have to add anything? I still can't believe I'm not even halfway through this series yet. I seriously have never been this intensely drawn in and surprised by an anime...ever. I don't call myself an otaku for a very good reason, and that's because I'm more of a casual viewer of the occasional series. I don't keep up with running shows, and I don't usually seek out anime beyond the occasional suggestion I run across every now and again. But this... Oh, this. I haven't felt this attached to anything since the last time I watched the Lord of the Rings all the way through...and that was a long time ago.
This show is seriously amazing though. I know it has flaws and I see them pop up from time to time, but you know what? I don't care. I'm of the belief that if a show is good enough, it doesn't need to be perfect. If a show can pull you in like this one does and keep your eyes wide open and your jaw firmly on the floor, then it doesn't matter that it has flaws or even that I can notice the flaws. It's too awesome for me to care.
Seriously though, this show rocks and I can't believe I didn't start watching this sooner. Idiot move on my part, I know.

So I just finished watching the second movie in the Kara no Kyoukai series and I continue to be blown away by what I'm watching. I've never seen animation this beautiful or clean-cut before. It has such a distinctive style to it...it's truly stunning how beautiful it is. The aspects of the supernatural and such that figure into the story fascinate me as well. I love anything creepy, though my mileage varies with scary stuff. But this anime is not scary - it's creepy, and that makes me a very happy viewer.
I've never seen anything like this and I'm not sure I'll ever see anything like it again. But if I ever do, I'm gonna watch it. Totally.
