Anime Relations: Nabari no Ou
I somehow thought about posting this here after posting it on LJ. And also after seeing so many males going on about yaoi on their ninja anime. So, since it was already written, here's my stance on the canon relationships. Not what I want to believe, not what think of them as. But what I see in canon:

For Miharu and Yoite, I do believe it is simply a really close friendship. It's easy for them to connect to each other, seeing as both have a broken past and don't value their lives as much as they should. Both hold an incredible power they didn't really want. So it's like, clinging to each other for salvation. Yoite clings to Miharu to find an escape route from the life he hates, and Miharu clings to Yoite to find a meaning to his own life. Nothing that needs to point to romance there - just two people that can easily relate to each other.

But they're both kids. Miharu's 14 and never held anyone dear before. Yoite's 16 plus being emotionally unstable. Neither of them really know the concept of romance. The two of them don't even have strong family members to support them. It's like they found in each other, pretty much by accident, something that they can connect to and cling to.

As for Gau and Raikou... Gau holds a huge admiration for Raikou not only for what he does, but just for him being him. He holds him so dear he'd put his life in danger so that Raikou wouldn't ruin his. But Gau is a kid - the clingness might go away with time, although the admiration and devotion won't. And Raikou considers him to be an important part of his life, as previously mentioned, and he unconsciously depends on the little guy too. Like he's some sort of light among a dark, dark world.

Both relationships can be taken as really close, and the ones involved depend on each other. It's easy to take it as romance, but if one takes off the yaoi goggles and spends less time around fangirls, it's also possible to take it as close friendships, since we're talking about emotionally unstable teenagers here.

Now, pretty much everyone that knows me knows how obsessed over Miharu x Yoite I am. But there's a difference between what I see and what I want to see. This is my unbiased version. Maybe it can help those that can't enjoy the anime for what it is, and complains about undertones.

Watched the Dark Knight tonight and...

Heath. I just... didn't recognize you at all. It wasn't your voice. It was your face. It wasn't... you there. In normal circumstances I would be so, so proud of you, but this...

I'm just sad. Really sad. And I wish we all knew what was going through his head up to the point it all ended.

The Dark Knight is the best movie of the year.

Thought I'd share. Here are some of my stories. Not ALL of them are there, only my newest ones (from Nabari no Ou) and a few older ones.

Anime Relations: Nabari no Ou
Because now I have craploads of free time and I'm a Nabari no Ou addict.

Oh yeah, I had my Yaoi Goggles on when I made this AMV, so if you think I'm implying something, then you're probably right, lol.
