As the year comes to the end, it was only natural avex would release something like this. While I am somewhat excited I also have to admit that I haven't listened to much post volume 200 eurobeat compilations. (Apparently, this is the time the genre's going back to its italo disco and older generation eurobeat roots). I can however say, that the little I have heard from SEB 200+ releases has so far been very displeasing. It seems the trend these days is to make the songs as aishu as possible. Aggressive eurobeat is almost non-exist in the new sounds. It’s almost as if people are afraid of that aggressive synth sound and energetic songs that were once common in the past. The question is will SEB 209 be any different? You want my honest answer? No I don't think it will be. A lot of the samples I heard just sound like more of the same uninspired songs. Don't get me wrong there were a couple of songs on there that I liked and others I was looking forward to such as Mega Nrg Man's Japanese Girl. Also Go 2's song Samurai Blue appeared promising. Other than that only time will tell whether or not SEB 209 will be worth owning.
