We can all appreciate MAL's adherence to strict guidelines for creating it's database, however, I believe it's a bit too strict. A good story, is a good story, no matter where it comes from. Animation, like all art, draws inspiration from everywhere. Tezuka himself said his biggest influences were Disney and Fleischer.
"Anime" has many interpretations. Anime in the US almost exclusively means, "Japanese Animation". However, this isn't necessarily true everywhere else.
So I'm just going to write down quality animation I have watched that doesn't quite make MAL's cut.
