Why I dislike the Anime Community

Shinseiki Evangelion, Dragon Ball Z
It took me a long while to realize and I finally understand why I dislike anime fans so much, it's not that they like shows or characters I dislike or lukewarm on or that their opinions are different from mine, the reason is that most of them talk like smug assholes.
It's one thing to disagree with me but it's another thing entirely to act all condescending about it. Like Evangelion(yeah I am mentioning this show again), I got dogpiled over a bunch of smug assholes who had a different definition of the word "care" or how Shinji fanboys love to act like psychologists and love to act like they are experts on how depression works. Sub fanboys love to act like they know everything about voice acting because they dick ride Japanese voice actors or how Dragon Ball fans seem to act like they know how to write a fighting story better than Akria Toriyama can.
Everything anime fans do is covered in smugness and condescesion. This is why I will never like the anime community ever. I have rarely spoken to rando anime fans who didn't talk like they were hollier than thou. I don't think other fandoms despite them having their issues even has this issue nearly as much as anime does. Anime is fun to watch but a bitch to get into discussions with people on.
I have noticed that so many anime fans I argued with over the years are either puffed up or insecure, when they are both, THAT is a deadly combination. I don't know what is it with this medium that brings out such awfulness in people.
It's why nowadays when I discover that people aren't anime fans or don't talk about it, I actually feel relieved. It's like, "no potentially inscure or smug assholes, or not part of the worst fandom to ever exist". At times, I feel happy for them, they never have to interact with the worst fandom ever and don't need to have a longing to have discussions with a medium they are passionate about. If you are indifferent towards anime, I got to say, you got it lucky.
