Anime Relations: Toradora!
Rule #1: Cute girls, strong girls, smart girls: moe the merrier :)
Rule #2: Don't bore me with slow starts or poor pacing :(

CGDCT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) E.g. Akebi-chan no Sailor-fuku, Saki, So Ra No Wo To, K-On!, Yuru Camp, etc.
CGDCAT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Action-y Things) E.g. Girls und Panzer, Strike Witches, KanColle, Sky Girls, etc.
Strong Female MC E.g. Revolutionary Girl Utena, Rose of Versailles, Shakugan no Shana, Chihayafuru, etc.
Romances E.g. Toradora, Nodame Cantabile, Golden Time, Kimi ni Todoke, Sakurasou no Pet, etc.
GL (Girl Love) aka shoujo-ai) (also, 90% of my manga consists of this). E.g. Maria-sama ga Miteru, Strawberry Panic, Sasameki Koto, etc.
Space E.g. Space Battleship Yamato 2199, LotGH, Cowboy Bebop, etc.
Historical E.g. Kenshin, Nobunaga Concerto, etc.

Turn-offs:
- Yaoi: Generally I don't go there. (Well almost -- I must confess to watching one because one of my best MAL friends had it as a fav. It was very good but I still cringed mightily at the bl parts).
- "Trolling for tears", early character deaths for cheap drama points (Clannad, Air, Cross Game).
- Male jerks (School Days, White Album 2).
- Love triangles from Hell. I can tolerate minor ones that last an episode or two, it's the ones with the 2D female Anti-Christs that turn me off.
- Bullying, abuse (including to animals) unless it is handled very well as it was in Oniisama e.
- Over-the-top misunderstandings (seriously, people/characters can't be THAT dense -- I'm looking at YOU, Kimi ni Todoke season 2).
- Huge boob bimbos (which means most harem & ecchi titles get disqualified with just a glance at their cover).
