I was thinking about this one day, when I should obviously have been thinking about other things like my studies but my mind wandered to Yamazaki and his "Anpan" frenzy-

Which eventually led to me sitting in awe at how I could remember so many of the Gintama characters (who reappear more than twice) even after 265 episodes, and how I could recall what they did with a little jog of memory.

Apart from the Yorozuya trio and everyone at Otose's snack shop, and the Shingensumi main trio, we have Yamazaki. Then there's Sa-chan, everyone in the Yagyuu family (aside from Kyubei), the people from Yoshiwara, beloved Madao, old Gengai.. Too many to list. Even that hardboiled detective. Katsura, you can't forget Katsura.

Given that they appear many times after their initial appearance, I think it's a given that we'll remember them but I also think it's their personal quirks that also make them memorable. After Yamazaki's anpan episode, I never got over it. When I saw that Yamazaki sent the Yorozuya the new year's card, I was just waiting to see anpan on it and there it was. I was on the verge of tears- can't decide whether it was from laughing too hard or just.. stupefied. After Gintama 2015, I'll think of Yamazaki everytime I see Tama-san (and is it bad that I'm actually seeing some kind of weird ship blossom between them??) and more anpan. They never let go of the anpan. (Tamazaki is the ship name i never)



Madao, on the other hand, has been completely reduced to a useless bum by the roadside (they don't even bother getting him to look for a job anymore) and also a master at danbooru (i can never see cardboard the same way again). He's also got some terrible luck around him.



Meanwhile Katsura is running around being Katsura, absolutely lacking common sense and just..

Sa-chan, along with Kondou, is always stalking Gin-chan. And Kyubei's got that one guy running after her shouting "WAKAAA" and trying to worm his way into some kind of weird play.

also random point everyone's calling gin-chan an old man, including himself but the thing is, he's in his early twenties and well it's true, he's really wise for his age but-

And this post will turn out too long if I keep rambling but what I want to get out of my system is that I love how they all have their own quirks that make them so memorable. I really love the Gintama cast so much. I feel like I hold nothing when compared to them but I'd really love to be friends with them because I feel that if it's them, they'll definitely accept me, flaws and all. Even if I'm a boring character because hey, Jimmy-kun's making it through the show too.
