5 TV 12 Not the Toradora I was lookin for, but it was still kinda cute. However, the romance was (throughout the story) just a tease, and the comedy wasn't too funny either. It's like Lucky Star (-) the anime allusions - a fluffy show that doesn't give much else.

Ame to Shoujo to Watashi no Tegami
7 ONA 1 REVIEWED. Unlike most short anime I've seen, this is more narrative-heavy, with its art being 2nd in priority. It puts an interesting twist on the shoe-locker romance setup, but its art was subpar, and it was too short to convey anything meaningful.

Anemone
8 OVA 1 A subtle short story about suicide. I recommend looking up the meaning and significance of the title beforehand, but the art, music, and subject matter that Anemone made it a remarkable short film.

Angel Beats!
5 TV 13 Hugely overrated. Its length was really crippling in terms of plot progression (the build up to the ending was overly abrupt), but the comedy aspects were (for the most part) well done. All in all, its drama felt a bit... Contrived.

Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen I - Haou no Tamago
9 Movie 1 Although the side characters were shafted for time, the 1st Berserk film was epic. If simply taken at face value as an action movie, it excels with its intense, visceral, and well-choreographed battles. I'll leave the finer plot details to the manga.

Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen II - Doldrey Kouryaku

Add - More
Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen III - Kourin

6 OVA 5 The unfulfilling, "keikaku"-heavy shadow war between Rock and Chang, slow buildup, and lame finale left me disappointed, especially after S2 built up the setting of Roanapur so well. The action was also too over-the-top, yet sparse, even for BL's standard
34

Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage
9 TV 12 S2's arcs builds on the dangerous world of Roanapur with great success. On top of the same fantastic action, the 2nd season adds a heavy deal of depth to both Rock and Revy, which gives a bit of thoughtfulness to an already entertaining series.

Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito 1 - Yokuryuu wa Maiorita
When the heck's this series coming out? The producers have kept all viewers and fans in the dark and in anticipation of one of the most critically acclaimed anime series of all time.
7 Movie 1 REVIEWED. Wow. Every character in this OVA is sociopathic as f*ck. The action's great, but I don't remember knightmares being so... mobile. The dialogue and plot aren't quite up to par with CG, but it's not a bad OVA at all.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch
The anime to bring me back to animes.
10 TV 25 The anime that got me into anime. People may love to hate it, but the fact that it was my first makes me overlook its few trope-heavy flaws. Along with Death Note, this is THE gateway anime, if only because it has no definitive genre. REWATCHED 2019.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch - Nunnally in Wonderland
4 OVA 1 I get that the lack of animation was to emulate the fairy tale it was parodying, but Code Geass fans deserve much, much more. Sure it was charming at times, but even CG's filler episodes were way more entertaining than this OVA. Fingers crossed for Akito.

Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no Tobira

Death Billiards

Uchuu Kyoudai
- TV 5/99 I get that the main character probably won't be a creepy, self-pitying, petty dude after nearly 100 episodes, but he was a super turn-off.

Zetsuen no Tempest
4 TV 7/24 REVIEWED. Zetsuen hasn't really captured my interest so far. It's "okay", but a cast of flat characters and the fact that it pretentiously throws around Shakespeare quotes like nothing makes it kind of mediocre.
