5	Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Add - More	9	TV	11	Beautiful and powerful exploration of grief and growing up.

6	Banana Fish Add - More	10	TV	24	Really a 9.75. The ending comes across as highly forced; however, the characters are incredibly compelling and the story truly handles sexual assault responsibly, which precious few stories succeed in portraying.

7	Boku no Hero Academia Add - More	7	TV	13	Fun. Bland MC who doesn't develop at all but works for the story; a really enjoyable shonen.

8	Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season Add - More	8	TV	25	Deku continues to disappoint but the other characters--particularly Bakugou and Todoroki--shine.

9	Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season Add - More	8	TV	25	The first cour is excellently done; the second less impactful by comparison, but still a good continuation.

10	Bungou Stray Dogs Add - More	8	TV	12	Visually gorgeous and fantastic voice acting. A lot funnier than the manga thanks to the voice acting, actually, and Atsushi and Akutagawa are powerful foils.

11	Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple Add - More	9	Movie	1	Fantastic addition to the canon manga. Dostoyevsky's foiling with Dazai is superb, and Akutagawa, Atsushi, and Kyouka teaming up was fun. The Jungian symbols are well done.

12	Death Note Add - More	8	TV	37	Good Shakespearean tragedy.

13	Durarara!! Add - More	7	TV	24	Good story and well done themes undermined by too many characters, which leaves them all a bit shallow compared to what they could have been

19	Fate/Zero Add - More	7	TV	13	A really excellently done tragedy; the nihilistic feel just wasn't for me.

21	Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Add - More	9	TV	64	Great shonen with cool characters and well done themes.

22	Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens Add - More	9	TV	12	Quirky and bizarre, but way better than you would think. Lin is a standout character.

23	Hunter x Hunter (2011) Add - More	10	TV	148	The cast, themes, worldbuilding, and overall premise succeed, the animation is stunning, and the music excellent too. One of my favorite stories ever.

24	Kimi no Na wa. Add - More	5	Movie	1	Perhaps all the positive reviews set up my expectations too high, but while the premise and first half hour were great, the music and cinematography unparalleled, the story veered into melodrama and the conclusion was laughable.

25	Koe no Katachi Add - More	8	Movie	1	Beautiful story. Just beautiful.

26	Made in Abyss Add - More	7	TV	13	Great music and a great start to a story. My rating may change with further seasons.

27	Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Add - More	8	TV	12	10/10 writing wise. Excellent deconstruction. It hurts.

28	Mawaru Penguindrum Add - More	9	TV	24	Surrealist at times but incredibly powerful and moving in its themes and characters.

29	Mo Dao Zu Shi Add - More	9	ONA	15	Really an 8.75. Interesting themes questioning who the real monsters are, compelling characters, and good worldbuilding. Animation is visually stunning.

31	Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom Add - More	8	TV	26	Really a 9.75 writing wise, where it's nearly flawless. It's just extremely dark and the MC is a bit bland compared to Elen and Cal. The symbolism is really well done.

32	Shingeki no Kyojin Add - More	8	TV	25	Brutal but the characters are compelling and plot intriguing.

33	Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2 Add - More	9	TV	12	The plot twists are excellently handled--really well adapted and animated.

34	Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 Add - More	8	TV	12	A great job adapting the manga's clunky pacing to work in an animated medium.

35	Shinseiki Evangelion Add - More	7	TV	26	Great themes, but a bit hard to watch at times.

36	Shinseiki Evangelion Movie: Air/Magokoro wo, Kimi ni Add - More	8	Movie	1	Fitting conclusion to NGE, and a beautiful final scene.

37	Shoujo Kakumei Utena Add - More	8	TV	39	The last 3 episodes are thematic perfection. Some earlier filler episodes are done, but the show is worth watching for those last three.

38	Tokyo Ghoul Add - More	7	TV	12	Clunkily adapted, but the music is excellent.

39	Tokyo Ghoul √A Add - More	5	TV	12	It hits certain plot points right, but those involving the main character are nonsensical and confusing.

40	Tokyo Ghoul:re Add - More	4	TV	12	A poor adaptation of the manga's best arcs. Themes? What are those? Mutsuki's character is in particular sanitized so that it has no power at all.

41	Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season Add - More	2	TV	12	The animators really tried to keep it consistent thematically (which could have improved on the manga even) but the rushed pacing made it pretty impossible.

42	Yuri Kuma Arashi Add - More	5	TV	12	Too surrealist and weird for me, but there is potential.

43	Yuri!!! on Ice Add - More	8	TV	12	Not terribly deep but it doesn't have to be. It's a great feel good show that will encourage you.

44	Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho Add - More	8	TV	112	Great adaptation of a great series; improves on the final arc from the manga version.
