This is a pretty good show for relaxation and also random chuckles. It is full of pretty girls, soothing music, and occasional magical fights with nice animation. The story isn't that great but it does not bore you as well. Good if you want to pass the time

Baccano!
Great anime, totally puzzling at first but turns out totally great at the last few episodes when all the puzzle comes together. An advice is to rewatch again and you might find out something that you may have missed.
Furthermore this show boost an alarming amount of main characters and you really wonder how they can manage to focus on all in ONLY 13 episodes, yet they managed it, as well as creating many favorite characters which are all significant in their own way. Bartender
I guess it might be a coincidence I'm watching this 10 years later, as such, I could appreciate this little gem even more. Some episodes were extremely touching, and the soundtrack was breathtakingly beautiful. My only regret for watching this so much later was that the OSTs out of print so I couldn't have kept a copy. A lovely watch indeed if you want to tone down after a busy and stressful day.

Byousoku 5 Centimeter
One thing you can always expect from Makoto Shinkai's works, subdued, bittersweet romances that leave you just wanting for more but yet having to accept it.
5cm had really breathtaking graphics as expected and a lovely OST by Tenmon. The story is mostly told from the male character's point of view and divided into 3 episodes in which we see different chapters of his life, most of which are portrayed a bit with ambiguity, especially the sort-of open ending that leaves everyone guessing. Cardcaptor Sakura
I thought this was kiddy and the only thing that attracted me to watch it was because I loved the syaoran x sakura pair in tsubasa chronicles. CCS exceeded my expectations and proved to me why it is still so popular till now. Characters were great, songs were lovely, animation though a little old improved a lot near the end, story remained highly interesting from start till end. Of course, the syaoran and sakura pair were still the highlight and it was amazing how much their relationship developed over 70 episodes. Nothing more to say, this is throughly well done and should be watched even though you are no longer a kid

Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: Fuuin Sareta Card
after the pretty mediocre 1st movie, this 2nd movie indeed did justice as the end of the whole series. Effects and animation were a lot better, not to mention of course...the main focus of the sweet couple's relationship which would just make you go awwww. Actually if you want to see how sakura's feelings progress, this is definitely the movie for you...card or not doesnt really matter as that definitely seems secondary in comparison. A very worthwhile watch for hopeless romantics like me who still believe in innocent young love

Clannad
Started out ok then plunged into the boring 1 girl per arc mode like Kanon, Air and any other harems out there, then it became better when the family theme was introduced. I didn't expect much halfway but Clannad proved to be entertaining with a rather good lead and a heartwarming last bit, which definitely saved the series for me. I found it much better than Kanon as even the side characters like Akio, Sanae and Sunohara were wonderful.

Starts out like any typical harem, in which the main character meets a lot of pretty girls... so a girl an episode. But when the actual storyline was introduced the series became good, but people who do not like 'incest' type of romance might be against it. Junichi, the male lead is not a sissy unlike many harem leads. Background music is beautiful with a very sad tone.

ef: A Tale of Memories.
A pretty good romance drama in which the most unique points are the effects and animations, especially the skies and how several scenes are portrayed. Also the wonderful music by Tenmon makes the whole series a lot more prettier and emotional. The characters end up in pairs too, so it isn't a harem anime as it may seem at first glance.

Charming tale about the romance between a maid and a noble. The animation wasn't very beautiful, but the settings were drawn with extreme detail, especially the English buildings and people. Music was great too, especially the piano tracks. A very worthy romance anime to watch if you don't mind a slightly slow and relaxing atmosphere

Fate/stay night
The story was overall okay but it does not leave too much of an impression. Probably because there were too many characters, some felt really undeveloped, leaving you having no feelings at all in the end. The music by Kawai Kenji was the only really good bit. The cooler characters like Archer unfortunately weren't given enough screen time. This anime had many faults but is still good to watch for your fantasy fix.

This is too good of a shoujo to miss. Features tons of cute elements, dramatic and touching scenes, lovely good-looking characters, sweet background scenes+ music...it really has nothing bad about it and is very easy to get hooked.The ending was however, only a temporary one and didn't go deeper like in the manga. Still, it is a pleasing watch, go for it and indulge in the sugary sweetness

Full Metal Panic!
One of the first animes I watched and instantly hooked me. This anime features the most interesting character ever created, Sagara Sousuke, the military genius but idiot at trivial issues. Also a great female character Chidori Kaname to match up, the chemistry between them is so great that you can disregard any other faults just to watch them alone. As said, the plot was quite uneven, going from sudden changes between comedy and drama but still enjoyable from beginning till end. Highly recommended

Only a short ova about the captain Tessa Testarossa's life for one day. Since I'm not a fan of her, its a hit or miss for me, the opening scene however was classic, just by seeing Sagara's extremely funny reaction to a half naked captain. A nice short ova for a short laugh

Looks like a typical shoujo or even a kids anime at first sight, but do not be fooled. Even though the first 25 episodes are light, cute and amusing, the next 25 take a dramatic turn, building up the climax till the tearjerking last bit. Character development and emotion is really good, music especially the 4 songs sung by Mitsuki are wonderful. Memorable story and wonderful characters, definitely do not miss this

Gankutsuou
Adaptation of the famous novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. I have seen the movie before this so this anime provided quite a surprise because some incidents were changed, furthermore, the main character was Albert not the Count. This wasn't that bad because it actually felt more refreshing. The animation does take some time to get used to considering its really very very artistic. Ending theme was really catchy and overall BGM had a dramatic feel.

Short but entertaining. Its not always we see animes about ice-skating, and the interaction between Tazusa and Pete is just hilarious. The heroine Tazusa has a very sharp tougue and it is very amusing just watching blurt out various comments and remarks. Animation was just mediocre and definitely not a strong point.

A very good anime that takes place in college, a refreshing change from the numerous high school animes. The soft watercolour art might not seem that appealing to many, but when accompanied by the great songs by Spitz, good plot and great characters (especially Morita), this all makes this anime entirely memorable and worth watching.

Howl no Ugoku Shiro
I loved Spirited Away so there is absolutely no reason to miss this. The animation as usual was great with vibrant rich colours, excellent background music (from none other than Joe Hisaishi), beautiful sceneries and settings, and probably the most attractive Ghibli character to date...Howl. However, the plotholes were rather evident, and some scenes were not fully explained. The romance wasn't that subdued as other Ghibli films and fans of this genre will be delighted. A good watch but does leave more to be desired.

Itazura na Kiss
Since I already knew the story, I was actually a bit bored at the start, plus Kotoko was the type of female lead I absolutely hated. However, this anime continued to surprise me as they progressed from a normal high school romance to uni to work and finally to baby birth. Seriously, that alone was enough to make me rake the anime to a high score, especially the last episode was so warm and fuzzy that I was feeling teary. Of course the 2nd ending song was my absolute favourite as well.
Overall I'd say this has to be watched with patience, but the the characters grow and by the last episode, you'll definitely by rewarded. Downloaded Episodes: 25 |

Didn't expect much from this but turned out to be rather amusing. Pokes fun at ninjas and probably has one of the most brain-killing songs around...the banana song. Even with the extremely beautiful animation, the harem is the most typical of all, featuring lots of cute girls which had bland personalities. Lovely★Complex
Funny and amusing series, mainly about the relationship between a tall girl and short boy. Animation is pretty simple and low budget but then the characters are all so lovable that it can be overlooked. The ending was totally fuzzy and heartwarming, one more interesting thing to note is that everyone talked in 'kansai-ben', not what you'll usually see in animes.

Then the fun started when the landlady revealed her split personality of about 5 people! In the end, this anime became rather heart-warming when the feelings of attachment and affections between the tenants and landlady were shown.

I absolutely have nothing bad to say about this, its really great in every way with awesome OP and ED, moving story, good animation...in fact I felt I was watching a normal live action drama. The only thing that made me a bit ticked was Hachi, her indecisive behaviour and crybaby nature made me want to strangle her a lot; although i cant bring myself to hate her most of the time too. Overall a very very good anime, theres still hope for a season 2 next time, till then, a lot of questions are still out there

I should probably state again that i've grown out of mahou-shoujo series, even more so that the girl appears like a kiddy while the guy is literally grown. And her being a crybaby does not help. The series however features good animation and some pretty nice tunes, however plot was a little too generic. The last few episodes turned really sappy but there were some sweet moments.
Overall recommended if you are a fan of this genre, otherwise...not really worth your time |

In my opinion, this series might be better of less than 10 episodes as the character angst actually got a bit boring (or maybe I just didn't have enough patience). The story was so mediocre I lost interest halfway, the characters weren't interesting and Angelique herself was totally a piece of white paper. Nodame Cantabile
I have watched the live-action but the anime version is equally enjoyable, however since it is animated, it does suffer from still moments when playing instruments sometimes, but the music and soundtrack is still awesome, and not forgetting to mention the excellent voice acting by Tomokazu Seki and Ayako Kawasumi. Drawings and animation aren't that much to brag about but after a while, they appear pleasant with the soft gentle colours and funny expressions.
Story is wonderful, but since this is a musical anime, the greatest part of it is still the music. Never never miss this if you are a fan of classical music, or even if not....watch it because its one of the best from 2007 Downloaded Episodes: 23 |

Ookami to Koushinryou
This is overall a rather unique series that deals about trade and business, something you don't normally see in other animes. There are some supernatural elements as well, especially when it comes to Horo, but it is more of a slice-of-life series, the pace is pretty relaxing but the interaction of Horo and Lawrence is so good that it'll keep your attention. Horo herself was a lovable character, full of charm, wits and intelligence too. Very pleasing series but too bad it was too short to elaborate more.

Face it, theres probably no other anime out there featuring ballet, this is enough to make it stand out among all the rest

first of all, i am not that familiar with the original story of R&J but only with they are separated by family feuds and that absolutely stupid ending. So whatever this anime goes by, I'll say its superior to the original, by adding fantasy elements and a Juliet that can fight...hey, thats a win! Animation and music were strong all along, and except for 1-2 episodes in the middle that were slightly inferior, the rest was very good. This still isn't a masterpiece though, because some characters are tossed aside and the action scenes weren't satisfying enough

Dated but still good, beginning of the 'stars trilogy' and resembles star wars. Great BGM and although the animation sometimes didn't match with the voices, that was a given considered its not a 2000 anime. Voice actors were good too, especially Ayako Kawasumi who's voice fitted Lafiel extremely well. Characters...mainly Jinto and Lafiel are a great pair, pity this series does not focus that much on romance.

An impressive sequel to the already good Cots and Bots1, Bots2 focuses more on political relationships and a worthy mention... the impressive dialogue used throughout the series. Indeed, this sequel can about make it to my favourite in all 3 installments. More is focused on Lafiel and Jinto's relationship too, thus pleasing romance-cons like me.
10 episodes is definitely enough, wasting no time for any mindless fillers, and providing us yet more wonderful times with our favourite space people. Highly recommended but only if you have watched the previous 2 series Downloaded Episodes: 10 |

The final installment of the seikai series, which was only a 2 part OVA, thus shorter than the rest. Not much was told here except of Jinto returning to his homeland, and of course, more Jinto x Lafiel goodness, in fact, they have been implied to be a couple. Animation was really good, considering this was produced in 2005, BGM was still the same. I wouldn't say this is a must watch, but you won't want to miss it if you have watched the rest of the series

i'm impressed! this series has been hilarious and funny since the first episode with really over the top jokes...granted its probably better if you don't marathon it because somewhere halfway the over-the-top mood does get a bit bothersome. But overall it has been enjoyable and especially the ending was done very well indeed. Some girls do get a bit irritating but thankfully this isnt too much of a harem. Also the male lead seems a bit weak sometimes but after the last episode, I doubt you'll still think of him the same way. A very good romantic comedy...er...or more on comedy produced this year

I've not really been a fan of the first series but well, thought I might as well watch the continuation. The first part was like a harem, mediocre and pretty boring, the 2nd part though got a lot more better. I have to admit the fights were animated very well, but the big bad guy seemed like a kiddy psycho, i just couldnt take him seriously. It is overall pretty good but I won't say its one of the best animes for 2007

Given that this is the same production team as Da Capo, I expected Sola to be as good but it turned out to be incredibly mediocre. Actually the story gets interesting sometimes but mostly it is all over the place, and with very slow pacing in which I feel I'm wasting time. Characters are paper thin, ended up not feeling anything for them.

Overall very relaxing and lovely, there were some up and down points but the 'up' moments were definitely great. When the anime ceased to be a bit more serious especially at the romance bits, it was so sweet and cute that it brought high school romance to a new innocent level. Some jokes did tend to be a bit too over the top but once you accept that, you'll enjoy the anime for all its worth. Characters are all lovable too and music well...i especially like the BGM playing during fuzzy moments.

Starts out like a typical harem that suspiciously resembled Love Hina, but turned out much better than that, after the main characters started to warm up to each other and Suzuka's past was revealed. Very good romance scenes that became more dramatic near the end, as well as the nice take on sports to contribute to the plot. Some BGM was very good indeed. Animation was probably the worse part of the series.

I'll say that the only thing thats a bit more unique in this anime is that the 'childhood friend' Kazuki dreamed of is not a white horse prince but an ecchi and perverted boy. Apart from that, the other episodes are pretty much cliched and truthfully...don't leave much to say about. It does provide some entertainment though, and because of me being bias to 'childhood sweetheart' themes, i still found it ok. Or else its just another simple plot made for the excuse of ecchi

Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations
This had to be the longest spanning OVA i had ever seen and due to it airing an episode per 2 months, it was a wonder I managed to stick with it. But then again, this had to be the best installment of the tsubasa series, with great action, enough gore and a darker storyline. The plot delivers twist after twist and finally you can't even guess what would come next. Had this not been for only 3 episodes and that no continuation was promiesed, I would give it a 10, otherwise leaving it hanging there just gets on my nerves. Its still great though, I'd say suffer through the first 2 seasons and you'd be rewarded with this.

This anime had it ups and downs, the atmosphere, pacing, music, voice acting were top notch and had me rooted on the seat. It had the perfect mix of drama, comedy, intenseness, danger, seductiveness... actually what i would think a proper vampire anime should be like. The big letdown though, was the animation, it was basically rocky right after the first episode, definitely not doing the series justice, or else it'll get a higher score. I don't mind them jumping around with the plot, but seriously, the animators need to stop slacking

I didn't think the first season all that spectacular, this season even so. I mean...to feel bored most of the time isn't what is supposed to happen, plus the jokes get overused and become lame. Seriously, how many times must the 'see boobs the followed by whipping' joke be used? This might as well be named as a Saito harem buildup. Granted, the best episode was the last one where everything finally became serious and I actually shedded tears at all the drama, but they had to ruin it at the last few minutes, thus making this series even worse than it is supposed to be. Definitely not recommended to most unless you want to see some cheap chuckles here and there
