8 TV 22 Shaft being Shaft, the visuals are very nice but occasionally distracting. I think this anime does a nice job with the drama, striking a good balance between it and slice of life.

7 TV 12 It was good. I like both revenge stories and period pieces. The animation could sometimes be noticeably bad, and the pacing sometimes too fast, but overall this is a pretty good anime.

A Piece of Phantasmagoria
7 OVA 15 A quiet, surreal series of shorts that explore the fantasy world of Phantasmagoria. I quite liked it. It reminded me of the Little Prince, just a bit.

7 TV 13 It got surprisingly serious for what started out as a ridiculous episodic adventure. I don't know how I feel about the ending though, it seemed to waste a lot of the potential this series had.

8 TV 24 Attractive visuals and character design, coupled with the fantastic main theme (and all its variations) really add to the setting of the series. But they could stand to lose the more shoujo-y tropes and the awkward comedy bits.

Aldnoah.Zero
9 TV 12 A lot of people might disagree with my high rating, saying Aldnoah wasn't as good as it could've been. But I loved it. Mechs and the really high production value made this for me.

5 TV 13 Sad to say didn't find this series particularly good, which is disappointing. I felt it was too short, the action subpar and the romance and drama was forced. It tried to be too many things and was not long enough to pull it off.

7 TV 26 Pretty good, but i think I can see why Azuma Kiyohiko, the mangaka, wasn't really happy with it. The pacing's quite different and some stuff was left out. Still had its own charm though.

Bakuman.
7 TV 25 After watching this I can't help but see all shonen series as a "formula" like they do in this anime. I hate the "romance" between Saiko and Miho. It feels forced, unnatural and like lazy writing. Hopefully they address this in the later seasons.

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan
7 TV 94 Sad to say, I much prefer Manslayer-Kenshin to Oro-Kenshin. His no kill stance is a bit tiring and something I've seen done far too many times. I dislike it when characters attempt to take the moral high ground.

9 TV 12 One of my favourite romances. A drama that isn't (too) melodramatic, which is very rare for an anime to be. And the musical segments were exceedingly well animated.

Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou
7 TV 26 A dumb gag anime that parodies the delinquent manga that was popular in the eighties. Good for a few laughs.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
5 TV 24 One of the most disappointing things I've watched. I found all the characters flat and unlikeable. Everything felt shoved in my face, from the incredibly uninteresting Mashiro to the subplots I couldn't care less about.

Samurai Champloo
10 TV 26 Hands down my favourite soundtrack ever. And it has the most fluid fights and a great host of characters. I wasn't bothered by the episodic nature of the show at all, and I feel that there is just enough continuity to tell an amazing story.

Seikai no Monshou
8 TV 13 A pretty good space opera, which is a subgenre I adore. Interesting that it's told from the "alien's" perspective, not the humans. The last few eps were a bit too unbelievable for me, but this was a decent show.
283

Seirei no Moribito
8 TV 26 This is a great looking series. And the spearfights, though rare, are fantastic. A problem lies in the middle of the series, where it devolves into a quasi-slice of life and the last few episodes which felt out of place.

Shigurui
7 TV 12 Dark and brooding. The anime uses silence as much as sound to construct its atmosphere. The flashes of extreme violence are in contrast to the usually slow pace, but feels at home within the setting.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis

8 TV 12 I didn't find the CG art to be as jarring as I expected. It took a little getting used to, but it worked well. "AoT in space" as a title feels a little unfair, as I feel it manages a more consistent tone to it.
